This was an anniversary present for my husband. I looked at a lot of other watches (Tag and other higher end brands) before deciding on this one. My first impression upon opening was "it's BIG". It's a very substantial piece, the face is quite large (to me) and the entire watch is very thick and heavy. That said, it's also very stylish, lusterous, and we'll made. Apparently, the face of the watch will never scratch...didn't know this before purchasing, but was certainly pleased to learn from a local retailer. My husband, who has also compared it to other watches (both online and in person, at local jewelry stores) is very happy with it...said he'd still choose this one over all the ones he'd seen. It keeps perfect time, and he's had no problems with functionality in the few months he's had it. One thing to note, if you don't a ready know, is that this watch has no battery, it functions by winding ONLY. This means that if you don't wear it daily (or purchase an automatic winder), it will lose time and you'll need to reset it. This may not matter to some, but it is definitely something one should be aware of prior to purchasing. ... show more

    • Nice watch, horrible warranty
The watch itself is gorgeous, and built like a tank. The Oyster-style bracelet is meatier than those on most Rolexes, like my Submariner Deep Sea on which the band looks too frail for the size of the watch (the Deep Sea is considerably larger than my regular Submariners). This is only my second Tag - I owned a relatively inexpensive one back in the 80's - but it compares very favorably with my Omegas, Breitlings and Rolexes. Really love the watch! The warranty is another matter. The watch froze up three months after I got it. It appears to be a problem with the mainspring, as it will no longer self-wind, and I can't manually wind it because the the crown/stem - which still works perfectly for setting the time and date - encounters stiff resistance, telling me not to even try winding. Unfortunately, since this is obviously a gray-market product, you're left to deal with Assurion for warranty service. I've had several horrible experiences with them in the past - while many Verizon customers may not realize it Assurion is the company through which you're actually buying phone protection (if you have it) - not Verizon itself. To say they are 2nd class is to be charitable. Anyway, I called them today and was told I'll have to mail the watch in and that turnaround time is 3 weeks, unless they have to send it to the manufacturer, in which case I'm looking at another six weeks. So I'll be basically without the watch for at least a month (counting time in the mail), and possible as much as nearly three months. Bottom line is think twice about buying a product where Assurion provides the warranty. You're in for a protracted hassle. ... show more
