    • Simple, Easy-to-Read, No-Frills Watch That Does Exactly What I Wanted — With One Weakness

I own an expensive Apple Watch, but over time I realized I was really only using it to tell time. I didn’t care much about all the extra features, notifications, apps, tracking, or other distractions. What finally pushed me away from it was simple: Having to charge it constantly. I wanted a watch I could simply put on and wear 24/7 without worrying about batteries running down every day. So I started looking for a very simple, inexpensive watch that: * told time clearly * had nighttime visibility * was comfortable * and didn’t try to be a tiny computer on my wrist This Casotime watch turned out to be a surprisingly good fit for exactly that purpose. What I Like: ✔ Large numbers that are easy to read at a glance ✔ Simple, unobtrusive design ✔ Comfortable cloth wrist band ✔ Old-school analog time/date adjustment ✔ Second hand is a nice touch ✔ Lightweight and comfortable for everyday wear ✔ Very affordable The main reason I bought this particular model was the luminous dial, because another inexpensive watch I owned was nearly impossible to read at night. The luminosity here is not perfect, but it is functional and usable — especially when waking up in the middle of the night and simply wanting to know the time without hunting for a phone. The One Major Weakness: The only thing that really costs this watch a full fifth star is the spring-loaded wrist band attachment pins. They are simply too weak. If the cloth band catches on something accidentally, the band can separate from the watch far too easily, and reattaching it is annoying. A stronger band attachment system would dramatically improve the overall durability and confidence of wearing the watch. Bottom Line: Overall, I’m happy with: * the simplicity * readability * size * color * nighttime visibility * comfort * and especially the price This is a straightforward, no-frills watch that focuses on doing the basic job well. With slightly better luminosity and a stronger band attachment system, this would easily become a 5-star watch for me. Still, for anyone wanting a simple, affordable, effective analog watch without unnecessary complexity, this earns a solid recommendation from me. I rely heavily on reviews when making purchases myself, so I hope this real-world experience is useful to others considering this watch. ... show more

His lowest priced field watch is $200. He suspects that these watches have plastic internals. BUT, he said the common retail value for a watch like this is about $75. ... show more

A cheap, good looking watch that works great! It looks great too! I went back and bought a 2nd. However, if it is dark, then you have a ZERO percent chance of being able to read your watch.

I got this as a cheap alternative to the more expensive military style watches out there. I wasn’t expecting much, but I was impressed by how nice the watch looks and feels in person. It fits well and the glow in the dark face glows brightly for hours - but dims over time. It’s made well, keeps accurate time, and I expect it to last at least a few years with normal use - but it’s not very water resistant. It did fine in the shower but I went to a water park with the family and the higher pressure of water on the slides broke right through the seals on the watch. It didn’t die, and I was able to open the case and allow it to air dry. ... show more
