    • NOT a Block & Tackle but useful pulley system w/value in portability
While this is NOT a Block & Tackle pulley system, it does provide a valuable pulley function in lifting loads over sharp edges to protect the edge, the rope or both. The construction is good- however I don't know if I would trust it with a full 1,000lb life and do not have facility to safely test that. The real strength or practicality of this unit is it's portability. It could be "installed" and used in a shop or factory for regularly lifting the same parts or supplies, or brought to a jobsite by a contractor and used to lift building supplies, tools or appliances without need to other lifts or cranes. One suggestion that is not shown on the product's image page is fastening the pulley to the beam or block you are lifting over. Just the weight of the unit alone could pose a dropping hazard, that precaution would be worth the effort in multiple ways. While the product description currently reads Block & Tackle (This is NOT a leverage device as a block and tackle system works.), I cannot deduct a star for that. Anyone buying this should see how it works and recognize that it will still require and equal lateral force to lift the vertical load. *While I received this unit at no charge as a Vine reviewer, nobody "buys" a 5-star review from me.
