I am very pleased with this excellent tablet stand. I have been using it daily for 10 months. I use it primarily to read e-mails and newspapers in portrait mode. It has many subtle design features that make it a pleasure to use. The most pleasant surprise was how easy it was to carry the tablet in the stand with one hand. There is large rounded hole in the back of the stand. You can put your thumb through it to hold tablet and stand together in landscape mode. The hole also allows a tablet in portrait mode to have its USB cable attached. The viewing angle is adjustable using a deliberately stiff hinge. The hinge is just stiff enough to hold its angle. The hinge shows no sign of loosening up with use. The ledge that holds the tablet is wide enough to easily hold the tablet with its cover folded behind. I purchased this item to turn my ipad pro into a second desktop device, it is great for that! Only issu is that your ipad needs to be in a case for stability. But that wasn't enough of an issue to dock the stars!

It works great! It's a big deal for me because I've had some really useless ones. The material on this one is very strong and attractive. Not the least that when adjusted it stays in place and I can keep my head up at the normal level. No more neck pain. Would buy again if I had to.

Oddly for some reason (I have multiples of these which I use to hold a large tablet. - Anyway oddly after some period of time it does seem that the base has become less stable. Honestly Im not really sure how unless it has warped over time. No pressure has even been put on it to do that. My tables are just as flat as they always were. Oh I just looked at the one I was having issues with - the little footy stickers fell off the rear of it. SO theres my review - the little footy stickers can move around or fall off and then it will no longer be stable ... show more

Truthfully there's not much to a tablet stand really, but the quality and build of this one is what I'd say is old school tough.
