THIS REVIEW IS ESPECIALLY FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE A 12.9" IPAD PRO (or similar size tablet): After spending a fair amount of time spent noodling around Amazon, I really didn't think I could find a gooseneck stand which could solidly hold my 12.9" iPad Pro WITH the heavy duty OTTERBOX CASE on it, but this one does -- AND at a very affordable price! I'm a klutz due to arthritis in my hands & my grandkids are, well, normal 4 & 6 year olds -- so that case needs to be on 100% of the time. It would be safe enough from us if it was in the stand without the case, but the case is a real PITA to take off & put back on. Plus, when my hands are really stiff and hurting, I can't even do that myself. I have to get my husband or someone else with fairly strong hands to take off or put on the case. Unfortunately, most of this style of stand seemed to have in mind only holding the devices of various sizes without any case at all, or a best, with a thin case that only provides minimal protection. IF YOU HAVE A 12.9" IPAD PRO: You should also know that the adjustable bracket which holds onto devices of various sizes can ONLY hold the 12.9" iPad Pro in LANDSCAPE position (long side parallel to the floor) ... which might be an issue for some, though not for me. I've been using this stand for about a month, and the springy mechanism which enables the bracket to adjust to various size & holds onto your device, does NOT seem like it's gotten any looser or become stretched out --even though my 12.9" iPad Pro in its heavy duty case is definitely at its maximum width ... which was something Id worried might happen. The bracket has had no problems adjusting as I regularly switch back and forth between my iPhone and 12.9" iPad Pro -- both in OTTERBOX cases. It still holds both devices in the position I set them at, just as firmly as when I first put it together -- even though it spends much of its time being stretched to the max holding my tablet overnights and much of each day. The stand was easy to assemble & looks nice. But, most of all, it does the job of holding my ipad in its heavy case ... AND costs $30-60 less than the very few other stands I found with that capability. I'm seriously considering getting a second one to use in my bedroom. ALSO, BE AWARE -- IF YOU HAVE A **BIG** TABLET, especially if it's IN A HEAVY CASE: The stand can TIP OVER. I really wish that the base of this stand was a bit heavier -- as it will tip over if gooseneck is stretched out anywhere close to max extension away from the center pole, AND you load it up with the above ipad and case hanging way out there at the end. Fortunately for me, when this happened to me, I was sitting in a recliner, testing out different placements for the base (with the gooseneck holding onto my ipad & case at the end), and when the stand started to tip, the tablet just tipped into my lap. If that had not been the case, and the whole thing went crashing onto the floor, I might be more upset. For now, I am just careful extra whenever I re-position my iPad anywhere that's out very far from the center post... at least until I figure out something (that's not too ugly) to add weight to the base. ANOTHER ISSUE TO NOTE FOR THOSE WITH 12.9" IPAD PROs OR SIMILAR SIZE TABLET: The bracket can only keep my ipad screen firmly in position if I set it so that the top edge of the screen is tilted slightly back towards the center pole (so the bottom edge of the ipad screen is slightly farther away from center pole of the stand than the top edge)... If you try to put it perfectly vertical, or tilted downwards, the weight of the ipad & case makes it flip downward, but not firmly so. In contrast, the bracket can hold my iPhone XS Max (also in an Otterbox case) in whatever position I place it... whether I've it down low & tilted all the way back, or with the goose neck stretched up tall and the screen of my phone tilted downward. It would be nice if the gooseneck portion was longer -- but that's certainly not a necessity. I suspect some may think the gooseneck portion is too stiff when your trying with your device in the bracket) is totally worth the payoff that lasts the entire time you are NOT re-positioning it: Whether you're talking a phone (in my case, an iPhone XS Max, also in a slightly less heavy duty Otterbox case) or my monster iPad Pro (in its extra heavy duty Otterbox case) that I can tap away on the screen without needing to put my other hand underneath to steady it. That's very important to me because (a) having to reach up to steady the device sort of defeats the whole purpose of having this stand in the first place, and (b) I've tried other stands where a looser goose neck meant either it gradually losing its shape and moving the device to a totally different placement -- or, the device bobbed up and down so much when I typed on it (one hand), that I end up with motion sickness and/or a headache. SUMMARY: Despite a few flaws/limitations, I am very satisfied with my purchase -- satisfied enough that I'm seriously considering buying a second one. The fact that it can handle my 12.9" iPad Pro WITH its extra heavy duty case on -- something few stands can do, even at twice the price -- earns it a 5 star rating from me!

I have been looking for a reliable stand for my Ipad Pro and this one was the answer, it was a great fit. It is well built and sturdy enough to hold my Ipad without the fear of it falling off or tipping over, great grip and ease of portabilty. I use it when I’m sitting at my recliner and sometimes at night in the bedroom. Easy to assemble, no tools needed. Highly recommended.

I use this stand to hold my kindle oasis, and paired it with a remote page turner so the kindle stands at my bedside and I use the remote to turn pages without leaving my nest of blankets. I have carpal tunnel, and I love this thing. I use it next to my bed so I can read on my tablet at night without the added problem of holding up the tablet and having my fingers go numb. It's never tipped over, and I can position it however I want it so I'm looking up at my screen instead of bending my neck at an odd angle to read a tablet propped up by an elbow.

Update: Lamicall reached out after I left my initial review and provided a refund and replacement part. They were very nice and helpful. I appreciate their awesome customer service, even if it took a less than stellar review for them to get back in touch with me. I will reiterate that this stand is great when it works, sturdy base and the gooseneck adjusts easily. However, the strings that are attached to pull the tension mount are still a design flaw. I don’t see them lasting long term and recommend actual handles for their next model. If they update the design to include handles or something sturdier to pull the tension mount, I would gladly purchase this item again. Original review: Unless you want your very expensive iPad to wind up on the floor, pick another stand. There is no customer support or replacement parts to be had. I admit, this stand was great until it wasn’t. The straps to open the iPad holder broke almost immediately. They use tension to hold the iPad, so you need something to pull them apart otherwise your fingers WILL GET CAUGHT and it will hurt. There should be sturdy handles not string that are glued in and break so easily. The stand base is heavy and does what it’s supposed to but only for a short time before pieces begin to fail. I tried their “support site” for replacement parts, spoiler alert the site doesn’t exist, you get a “404 error” page not found. If you google the company name “lamicall” a site does come up but no one responds to the customer service form or the numbers or emails listed. So now I’ve got a very heavy paper weight. For something so expensive (for what it is) it should not fall apart this easily. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.
