I was looking for a vessel to keep potting soil in and to use for potting plants in my greenhouse. I didn't want to use a vintage sink or anything like that and was concerned that a plastic storage container would fall apart quickly in the heat and sunlight. I cautiously bought this potting tray with the fear that the lower front would cause soil to fall out all over the place. I can assure anyone with this worry that it's not been an issue so far. * I can put half a big bag of potting soil in it without spill over. The recessed front area makes it easy to work in the tray without bumping the front or making my wrists hurt. It also helps my kids reach in to fill pots with soil without using a step stool. * A 72 cell flat doesn't quite fit right in it with room to access the soil - but I just do half at a time. It more than adequately fits cups and pots though. I keep a pump top liter bottle in one corner to add water to the plants so that also takes up a bit of room. * The back ledge seemed superfluous at first but is actually really handy for placing freshly potted things that might drip. My only wish was that the ridges on it would direct dirt and water into the potting tray and not off the sides. * It is very sturdy and I think it will hold up nicely for years in a pretty harsh environment. * The green color is a nice touch. It looks good, doesn't overheat in the sun (like black plastic), and doesn't show grime that tends to form where wet potting soil sits in the sun (like clear plastic). ... show more

I purchased this not as a potting tray but as a litter box for my 18 pound senior cat that had chronic renal failure. The low lip in the front means that you can't fill it with much litter but he was so happy to have a box he could walk into. I got this in January, it was shipped quickly, arrived in perfect condition and seems very durable. Being plastic though I would take care into how I would store this when not using. It might get bent or twisted in the sun (but I can't say for certain as it's been indoors) I think this is an ideal solution for anyone with a senior cat that just doesn't have the strength they used to. For extra protection I bought what I call 'pee pads' to set under the box sticking out a bit from that lip to catch any accidents. (they had some generic ones on here I can't recall the name of them, they came in a pack of 50 and were about 17 x 24 inches I think? very affordable) Great price and if I were a gardener I would really like this as well. It's easy to carry and clean and is sturdy, plenty of room for some smaller potted plants plus all the tools you'd need to plant with. Good quality! UPDATE: I often find other uses for products that I buy and like to share those tips with others. I noticed one person did not find my review of this product useful. I do my best to honestly review all the products I buy. I am hoping the person who didn't like my review could let me know what information I could have included that would have made my review if not helpful at the very least not checked off that it wasn't helpful so I can keep it in mind next time I write a review - thank you. ... show more

As the title says this thing is amazing for soil blocking. It’s also just a really good table top garden tool. Keeps the soil where you want it without being flimsy or shallow like the soft plastic ones.

Great product and will make clean up after potting a plant very easy. Description says you will get two. Wrong! You will only get one, but that one item is worth the money paid. I had a couple of plants I needed to repot, so I broke out this potting tray. I am very impressed with it, and it works! Forgive my surprise, but so many things these days just don't work like they should. This is not one of those things. Plenty of room to maneuver in, sturdy, and the tray at the back of the tray works very well to store dead leaves, hori hori knives, soil scoops, or pretty much anything else that would be involved with repotting plants. The tray itself is big enough to hold the pot, soil container, and the plant without being crowed in most cases, and when I finish with the repot, I can simply take the tray outside and dump the old soil. This is genius! I highly recommend! Oh, almost forgot, there was absolutely no mess to clean up when I was done. ... show more

This is an excellent potting table. Light weight, but sturdy. Keeps your soil from dropping on the floor when filling a pot. Easy to rinse out. Large enough to comfortably fill a medium size container without feeling cramped while doing so.
