Tried the original version of this table, but it was not very sturdy and is slanted down in front. This Table Mate II is much sturdier and lays flat, which is good for eating and writing. Laptop fits perfectly. Very happy with this. Good price & fast delivery.

This is a good easy to use and folding tablet. It's a good size if you have a larger laptop. It's not as sturdy as I thought plastic only does so much. But besides that it's stability is actually rather stable on the right floor surface. But if you have carpet it's easy to slide in and out of your way. Ok, so learned a lesson. Stop buying on Amazon without checking all the reviews..especially the one and two star reviews. And don’t believe everything on Amazon is really 4 1/2 stars as they would have you believe. My husband has been wanting one of these for a while. I kept resisting because of past experiences with tv trays being very unsteady. This one seemed different. The leg design is convenient as the legs slide under furniture and you can get the try right up to your belly if you want. Trouble is it’s very wobbly, especially if you have it set on a high height. When my husband came in the house with bungee cords I put my foot down! I don’t want a crappy piece of redneck “furniture” in my house held together with bungee cords. Next it will be duct tape😫 Looks like we settled on lowering the top too where it’s more steaddy, but high enough to eat from. Wanted to take a video, but he had already put it into the lower position. It’s NOT that easy to raise and lower either. Forget about tucking it away under the couch after every use. Very expensive for the quality. Follow up: its been a few months since purchase. My husband is happy with the tray. He eats on it and uses his lap top. Can’t be set at high height. Too wobbly. Changing review to 3 stars ... show more

I bought this so I could use my laptop while watching TV in the living room. It is perfect for that. The black color looks nice and it goes with my living room furniture. It easily folds up and fits in my closet when I don’t want it out. The large tray is great. It holds my 17” laptop and has room for a mouse and a few other things. When purchasing, I waffled between getting the Table-Mate II (15”D x 21”W x 29.25”H) and the Table-Mate XL (20”D x 25”W x 30”H). I bought the XL, and it was the right choice! 👍 Overall, I’m very happy with it and would purchase again. I bought a similar table several years ago that was smaller and white. I liked it, but it was too small, and I didn’t like the white color. But that was the only choice at that time. ... show more

Pros: large enough, good height, fits under couch or behind a chair easily for storage. The legs scoot all the way under the couch when in use, so its close enough to your body. We have used it for some games, eating dinner, and working on a laptop so far. Cons: a little flimsy for the price. While it is easy to put together initially, I wish it was a little more seamless and quick to put up for storage when not in use. My 8 year old can't set it up or take it down herself, for reference. Some more fun colors would be nice as well. Overall, I'm glad I purchased it and I think I'll get some good use out of it. Hopefully it'll hold up for a while! ... show more
