This is a tool that you hope you never have to use, but you certainly want it available if you do need to use it. My friend's dad perished in a flood, because he could not extricate himself from his vehicle. So, several years ago, I purchased two car window breakers, one for my car and another for my wife's SUV. Since that purchase, we've acquired another vehicle; so it was time to get another window breaker. I can say with the utmost confidence, this window breaker is much better than the other two. It is made of heavy metal, it has a sharper hammering point, the seat belt cutter is sharper and this one has a flashlight. The rechargeable flashlight must be charged from time to time, but for me, the flashlight is not the selling point of this cutter. I'm very impressed with this window breaker, but as I've already said, I hope I never have to use it.

As a firefighter, I always have tools in my family cars in case we ever need them. Living in Florida, we've had a fair share of cars drive into the water where people must be extricated. This hammer works great on glass. It has a seat belt cutter but if you're reading this, remember that you have ample time to just unclick the seat belt if you're in an emergency. These hammers are well-made and heavy. I took the guards off while storing them in my door cubby for quick access. This is a great tool that I hope you never need, but if you do need it, it may be the difference you need to get out.

I have to agree with another reviewer who said that the handle was a little short. A longer handle would allow for a better swing. That being said the hammer is fairly heavy and although I have not tried to break any glass I am pretty confident it would work. The pointed end is pretty sharp and it comes with a plastic protective cap. The seatbelt cutter seems like it would be pretty easy to use. The smaller overall size of the device would allow it to be stored within easy reach, like in the console between your seats. I've seen some that came with a holder that could be mounted inside your car. That would have been a nice touch. I got the silver one and it looks great. I think the black color might be harder to find in an emergency. Overall I think it is well worth the price.

This is a sturdy tool. The window breaker part is pointy and seems like it would break the window well (note that I did not try this — I don’t have any extra car windshields to try it on). I like that it comes in a little sack and that the pointy part has a rubbery cover so that I don’t accidentally poke myself with it. It has some weight, which should also help with the window breaking. It is short enough to store in an easy-to-reach location in the car.
The seat belt cutter is also good. I didn’t want to use it on my actual seat belts, so I tried it on some extra webbing that I have (which is seat belt weight). At first the cutter didn’t seem so good when I tried it on the limp webbing. But then I had my partner hold the webbing taught, the way the seat belt would be. It worked well on the taught webbing.
Obviously, I hope I don’t need this. But I feel much more secure knowing it is in the car just in case.

I bought this after watching a YouTube video of a car going over a bridge- I like to be prepared if possible and this makes me feel safer. Hopefully, I never need to use it; but the quality is good and seems like it has the ability to break a window.

I think most people who live at the coast and have to cross different bodies of water to get around every day have at some point worried about accidentally driving into it. It has happened more than once where I live. So having this tool in my armrest gives me peace of mind, especially since it’s very straightforward do use. No preloading required like with some of the smaller ones. It’s heavy, and well made.

This is a small in size but heavyweight hammer, with a sharp point on one end and a flat side on the other. It comes with a carrying case and has a rubber-ish cover over the pointy end for protection. Appears to be very well built. Hard to judge how will it works without have a spare car window around, but it looks like it will do the job.
