This cabinet was not too hard to assemble but you will need 2 people to help lift. Putting the doors on while cabinet is laying down is the easiest way to install them. Once the shelves are in, the cabinet is more sturdy. This will be fine for craft and material items. Not the best materials for sturdiness and the back panel should be a heavier piece not the flimsy cardboard. The paint does chip easily. I pushed it around the room a bit and it held up well. This came together relatively quickly, and I feel confident using it for the purposes I need (as a pantry in our kitchen). However, if we had kids I would not feel safe unless this was attached to the wall, and I'm also not sure if I'd use this for heavier items like appliances/tools/etc. except on the bottom shelves. I don't love the look of the ugly grey feet this comes with, but those would be easy enough to change I think if they really bother you that much. And they do help with leveling the cabinet, so functionally all good. ... show more

This cabinet is particle board with a very cheap piece of cardboard for the back. It was folded over in the package, that’s how thin it is. Purchased on prime day so we’re okay with it in our laundry room. I would never put this anywhere else in the house, okay maybe the garage. My husband put together fairly easy, he needed my help holding the side once. You must secure it to the wall. bracket included. It was easy to tip over empty! Even with it secured to the wall, I put lighter items on the top. ... show more

I debated for a long time whether to get these or not. I didn't know how durable they would be and if I would like them. I have loved them! It gives me so much space to store office supplies and other things. I bought matching sets so that they go across the entire wall and look very elegant! I would definitely buy them again. This is the 3rd set I’ve bought. I like them, they are fairly easy to build, and they look good. My only complaint is that I don’t feel like the doors close all the way, there is a gap. (That’s why I left only 4 stars) We are using this unit as a closet for our baby. Added a tension rod and some baskets.. this should be perfect! ... show more

    • A cinch to build, and they look great!

Wow, I did not expect that to be so easy! I bought the 36" and 16" utility cabinets, but the boxes were so heavy that I was convinced these would be a nightmare to build. I was wrong! Once they were unpacked, I read through the instructions and counted all the parts. Everything was there, and the instructions were pretty clear. The illustrations definitely helped. I am proficient at building flat-packed furniture, so that may have also helped, but I almost always get frustrated with shoddy parts and instructions. This was so easy to build by myself that I kept saying, "Wow!" with each completed step. The pre-drilled holes were correctly sized and lined up, so the parts fit smoothly together. The most difficult part was NOT hanging the doors, which I thought would be really tough; the doors were actually super easy to attach. The hardest part was flipping the unit over once it was mostly assembled. That's only because it was a bit heavy and I didn't have anyone helping me. The instructions are clear that you need to fully attach the back panel because it's structural. When you attach the back panel, note that there are embossed holes all around it AND across the upper middle. These line up with the top shelf, so be sure you have the back in the correct position. I recommend giving yourself ample time to get the job done and clean up afterwards. It does not come with tools, so you will need a philips screwdriver set and a hammer for the build. You will also need a drill for securing it to the wall, if you choose to do so. I did, and the units feel a LOT sturdier because of it. You'll definitely also need to give it some muscle/elbow grease to get some screws in (especially attaching to the wall). Just follow the instructions, step-by-step, and you'll love this project. As far as quality, there were a couple of dings on the edges of the side panels, but they aren't noticable once assembled. One of the door hinges had a slightly bent metal piece which prevented it from clicking all the way in. I was able to use pliers to *gently* move it into position and get it to click into place. The doors work perfectly, AND they shut slowly so no banging doors! Aesthetically, the cabinets look exactly as the photos on Amazon, and they fit perfectly into my space (which I pre-measured before ordering). They look awesome. Hope this review helps. I like the size of the shelf; however, the doors do not align right. The left side is higher than the right side. The right side is difficult to close. I was told delivery on Saturday and that did not happen. When I called about it, I was told that UPS don't deliver on the weekend, so if you need it prior to the weekend expect it not to be delivered on the weekend if it says that it will be. ... show more
