I’ve tried several different brands of wired headphones, and these are by far the best! I do counseling by video for hours at a time and the quality of headphones is very important to me. So many of the other brands have problems with the microphones, echoing, and constantly falling out of my ears. But this brand sounds great, my clients say I sound great on their end, and the way these earbuds are designed, once I put them in my ears, they never fall out! I just ordered a second pair for my car. I highly recommend these wired, earbud headphones!

I recently wrote a review for the previous generation, the NRG 3.0s as I accidentally bought those instead of these again, so the following review is basically the same comparison review I did on that product page. I'll compare them to the NRG 3.0 earbuds. Song used to compare: Distance by Apashe, a classical and edm mixed song which provided excellent mix of sounds from highs to lows. SOUND: The NRG X's sound very balanced. The bass does not muddy the highs and the highs and mids are crisp. The bass, depending on what earbud fitting is used, can hit hard and is clear. Vocals are brought more to the front. The 3.0s on the other hand are bass heavy and not necessarily the good kind of bass. The sound is muddy and although you can hear the highs, I could immediately tell they weren't hitting as high as the NRG X could. Vocals weren't as clear as I hoped they would be. The volume did sound louder than the NRG X's but it could be that my pair needs replacement since one bud is not working. Overall, the X's just sound better in every way. BUILD QUALITY: Both the 3.0 and the X have similar build quality. The cases for both are the same and are nice and sturdy but does soften up over time and usage.. One physical difference between the X's and 3.0s is that the X's have the inserts angled while the 3.0s have them straight inline with the housing. The the angled inserts make it easier to tell which side is left and right without having to read the markings or rely on the volume/mike to differentiate left from right. The X's lasted over a year before one side died due to a bit of rough usage while I can't comment on long-term usage of the 3.0s but I'd wager it'd be about the same. COST: The 3.0's and the X's pretty much are the same price at about $25 before taxes. COMFORT: Both the 3.0 and X are comfortable in the ears. As long as the wire doesn't swing and rub often, there isn't any noise traveling up. Both of them do get yanked out of the ears if the wire is caught, but we all know that is something that can happen with wired earbuds. The length of the wire is a bit long than I like, so they do get caught on corners a bit more often than I'm comfortable. I'd give the X's the slight edge here due to its angled inserts that don't press the housing up against the ear. Both block outside noise pretty well, especially when seated in right and playing music. FINAL THOUGHTS: Between the 3.0's and the X's, I have to give the win to the X's due to it's more balanced amd crisper sound and marginally better comfort. Given that the cost is pretty much the same, I recommend you skip the 3.0s altogether and get the X's. For the price, the NRG 3.0 are lacking while the NRG X improves on the sound immensely for budget earbuds. As such, I'll be returning the 3.0s and getting the NRG X's again and potentially the Jabra Elite T75 wireless earbuds for the premium sound and wireless comfort.

These are some of the best earbuds I have used Great noise cancellation. Bought a pair for work as well one for travel. Mr husband tried them while we were on a flight and was amazed at the quality… bought him a pair also. Use these rather than clunkier headphones as they are easier to travel with AND they come with a great case!

Used them for about 90-100 hours. The sound mellowed out a bit after the first week, and I was really enjoying them. I mostly listen to podcasts and I found the Apple earbuds to be a little too bassy, these sounded nice and natural. So I was quite happy with them. I own a cleaning company so I’m always vacuuming etc, the nozzle on these fit in the ear really well to suppress external noises without having to crank the volume up. I found with other earbuds with active noise cancellation I couldn’t hear when people were trying to talk to me, so these were just right. I think the cord itself is the failure point, I never yanked on it, dropped the earbuds, kinked the cord etc. however if I move the cord just right both the earbuds will work. Not sure if this could be fixed by more QC (kind of seems like it was crimped on too tightly to the USBC connector). Or perhaps just adding more strain relief to the connector. Moving the DAC/DSP out of the USBC connector and up to where the cord splits left/right might help to make the connector less bulky and make room for a more robust strain relief. I’d also like to see the cord made from a material that is a little more slippery like the Apple earbuds. This rubbery cord is just “sticky” enough to grab on your shirt a little then pull the earbud out occasionally. Would be open to trying another pair of these after they get sorted out.

Granted it hasnt traveled much but to its credit, this works & sounds as good as day 1. If durability is what you are looking for then look no further.
