Coming from someone who wears the North Face Jester backpack, this is an amazing upgrade. Swiss Gear has really improved on the compact design by adding pockets and space where I didn't think was possible, unlike the Jester which only has the small pocket and the large capacity pocket (total of 2 pockets). This Swiss Gear has 2 pockets in the front (one small one on top for your immediate items and one on the bottom which is much larger). Behind this is a medium size pocket which is great for notebooks, pencil pouches, smaller books (and has an inner lanyard + hook to hold keys). Finally the largest back pouch is super accommodating and easily fits my HP laptop (14" diagonal, can definitely stow a larger laptop). It also is a large capacity space for larger textbooks and additional inner pockets if you want to hold more pencil cases or anything else. There are two side pockets which are elastic!! The mesh seems on the fragile side but so far I have been able to fit in my water 18 ounce water bottle and umbrellas with ease. There is also two main handles on the top, a smaller loop behind this for hanging on hooks, and a bunch of extra handles/loops along the side for additional hanging options. On the front there are smaller elastic loops for hanging extra accessories, like hand sanitizer, packable cloth bags or keychain accessories if you'd rather go the aesthetic route. On the back there is extra cushioning for comfort and an extra carrying strap. The backpack shoulder straps are cushioned and wide so you don't experience any digging in. I can absolutely see using this for travel or hiking or for general school/commuter use. It comes in an absolutely stunning blue or purple color and is built super sturdy so I know it will last long. I much prefer this to my Jester backpack and am looking forward to using this next term.

I love this bag! I had another one from this company but it was just too small. So when I saw this I snagged it up. I could not be happier. There are a total of four zipper pockets. The two in front and then the back two main compartments. The two up front are good to toss in smaller things. Then the first larger compartment is more narrow but has a pocket and two mesh smaller pockets and two pen holders. Then the actual main compartment has the padded spot for your laptop and then a smaller pocket. Very roomy in there. Should be able to lug most if not all of your daily school or work stuff. There is also two outer mesh bottle holders. The back is mesh and the straps are adjustable and soft. Very well constructed. I am really happy with this
