This is my first SwissGear bag, and I have to say that I'm impressed. For decades, I've used a few packs from other vendors, both "professional" bags and "sports" packs that had laptop pockets. I've often found those other packs to be merely sufficient, but not check all the boxes that I'd like to see. But, I didn't think anyone made the perfect bag, so accepting mediocre products was my fate. Fast forward to now, I wanted to replace my well-worn pack (over 1M travel miles on it!) with something that was small, durable, and which had sufficient dedicated storage space for the smaller items I need to carry in addition to my MacBook Pro and iPad. After searching for a few weeks, I came back to this pack, which was on sale for a fantastic price, and decided to give it a try with the thought that if it didn't work out, I could just donate the thing. To my surprise, this pack is absolutely perfect and meets or exceeds all of my expectations. The pack has plenty of little pockets to hold the bits and pieces, but ample storage room for books, a light jacket, etc. Also, an armored glasses pocket and a really cool side-load sleeve for shoes or jackets. There is a place for everything, and I'm putting everything it its place. The pack is quite light but with the 600 denier nylon construction and it just oozes of durability and quality, I'm expecting that this thing will last for at least a decade. Plus, this pack holds its shape and is a joy to use and to look at, unlike the bag (from a well-known Swedish company) that it is replacing which was permanently crumpled and difficult to put on and use, and was quite void of the little organizing pockets I value. As my first SwissGear bag, I'm completely stoked with this purchase and now regret not having looked at these bags or this brand earlier. Now that I'm enlightened, I'm going to explore more of the SwissGear products to see what else they have that might be of value to me and my family. Recommended without any hesitation. ... show more

Wanted this bag to avoid placing luggage into cargo when I travel to somewhere in Africa in where luggages often get lost and items stolen from them. Searched for many different options, including Samsonite, Osprey (got a bigger version and it’s great too) and this one met my criteria. Let’s start with the not so good: False advertising because this has no connection for USB but… The bag so many advantages that it’s an easy 5 stars anyways. It has lot of room, small compartments for most needs and it feels very sturdy high quality product that will last for years to come. It has room for a laptop, ipad, power bank, passport and so forth. In addition, it looks great and atleast empty feels great on the back. Great value for money in my opinion. Backpack is awesome and holds my 16" MacBook Pro M2 Max!!! That was my main concern!!! Description said it only holds up to 15" but my 16" fits with room to spare! Only thing that I wish was different was the water holder (it's small) so I can't slide my 40oz. Hydroflask into my backpack like my previous Swiss Tech bag. I have to use a smaller Hydro now. Zippers are kind of loose. Hard to explain but with a little force, the zippers fly open. My old backpack had some resistance (fells different) You can slide shoes closer to the bottom of the bag and it does have extra material on the inside bottom of the bag, but I don't use it and it doesn't bother me. Love that the separate computer compartment fully opens and has space for two full size laptops with padding so they aren't right against the bottom, not just a laptop and iPad. Great padding - the bag took a beating in the overhead compartment (wasn't full) and no damage to contents. Does fit under seat in front of you. Strong zippers, doesn't seem like those will be catching or binding. Large inner compartment large enough for medium pocketbook AND separate 8x10x3 bag of sunderies for a flight. Outer pocket carried several hard drives and electronics, cables, etc. Didn't use the outer quick access pocket, but appreciated the "sunglasses" hard case going through TSA because it was very handy to quickly stow my mobile phone, watch and anything in my pockets for quick retrieval after security. Thick padded handle. All this room, and manages to look sleek. Shocked this was priced at $108!!! Definitely has the features and quality of a $180-200 bag. Nice thermal pocket didn't completely zip over a large bottle of water, but it would still keep it cold and would do fine for anything less tall - it does have additional width. ... show more

The zippers like to slip. I have had the zippers unzip and open the bag up and dump things on the floor. Zippers have to be on one side or the other, not at the top but this doesn't mean that they won't start to unzip and slowly let loose. Otherwise a very good bag.

This is a really well built backpack with ample space and numerous pockets/compartments to carry everything you'll need. The zippers are heavy duty too, and they don't catch on anything when you zip them up. Love it!

We use the “shoe” compartment for dirty laundry - the bag is huge and it’s basically moving clean clothes from the main compartment to the side compartment once worn. The “chill” compartment is too small for any bottles but works for a small snack or can.
