  • Fantastic for the price
I needed something to let me know what my swing speed was as well as contact quality with the ball. The added benefit of seeing total yards vs. carry yards is really helping my game. I am finally able to see progress with my swing changes and correct issues. Before I was just guessing. I also love being able to set it up on the course and the range quickly. It is amazing to get actual feedback during rounds. I primarily use it on my home hitting mat/net setup which allows me to practice more without allowing bad habits to ruin my next round. I am able to hit greens again thanks to the approach practice. It has helped me get feel back into my wedges and know what my yardage is going to be. I would have to play golf 4 times a week to get this kind of feedback in my practice. I've owned this for about a month now. Even though my scores are not showing it due to poor putting, my accuracy and consistency is heading in a positive direction. I know my yardages again. I really wanted to get something with more bells and whistles so that I could use it as a simulator someday. As far as I am concerned the simulator can wait. The simplicity of this device is what I love the most. Hardly any setup necessary unless you need to adjust the club loft angles for your clubs. It is also nice to know your averages. I am hitting more greens by that knowledge alone. I was constantly hitting short because I "felt" like I could hit my irons farther. Now I select clubs for my average distance because I know what it is. Huge game changer. ... show more

  • Third time was charm
This was my third attempt to find an accurate value swing monitor I returned 2 others because of accuracy problems . One was a $500+ model . I bought this unit for checking carry distance , smash factor and for future speed training and it excells in all these areas . The audible calls help me maintain focus on my practice . I hope they add to these audibles in future models, especially smash factor. Outdoors the remote must be 6 inches to work and indoors about 12 inches ? I believe it should work to at least 4 foot . Nothing "remote" about the remote . It only serves as a switch base for additional functions . I changed the battery but it didn't help the problem . This problem is only a deal breaker if you intend to change clubs often . I usually hit 20 to 30 balls before I change clubs and that mitigates the problem . I used this monitor outdoors after a rain storm with premium balls and checked distances with a laser . All balls were no more than 1 yard from pitch mark . ... show more

  • Great Product but need to be aware of power consumption
I was impressed during the practice sessions I used this product. It was easy to set up and was consistent in terms of distance/speed. It was fast and the display was easily readable. The remote worked perfectly and it supported the loft options on most of my clubs (newer irons are much stronger and there may be a set that doesn't exactly map to your clubs). I really liked the feature that allows you to try and match the distances for the clubs However, for me, unless I made an additional investment in rechargeable batteries (8 total) it would be limiting to use. Maybe there was something wrong with my unit but I was only able to get throughabout 2.5 buckets of large range balls. I am normally at the range daily if I can make it and certainly at least 4 or 5 times a week as a minimum. I am not a big fan of alkaline batteries from an environmental perspective so not using rechargeables is not an option. It was also clear that you would need a case to store the unit and keep the extra set of batteries. I am writing this to recommend this to anyone that may hit fewer buckets a week and is looking for the most critical info on your swing. The price point and accuracy are really good for the features of this product and I recommend it. You can spend a lot more and not sure you would get better value for the extra features. ... show more

  • Very Happy!
My friend had a SC200 plus that I tried out when I visited, I tested it out and compared it to a trackman device at a local driving range it is remarkably accurate for the price point. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles like some of the much more expensive products out there, but for it's price it does every I need. It is a very very good product for a golfer trying to gap their shots, especially if their local driving range doesn't have a trackman or if they go to lots of different driving ranges. I would highly highly recommend this product. ... show more

  • Awesome
I'm a mid-handicap player. The nearest driving range is 10 miles away, so I like to hit balls into a net in my backyard. But you just don't get much feedback hitting into a net. I hit it flush, and it felt good, but was it really good? I bought the SC200+ to give me some feedback. I loved it on the first swing, but there were doubts. I loved the data. I bet I'm not the only one that reaches for a club based on how far I can it instead of how far I usually hit. Those are definitely two different numbers for me. I hope that seeing the stats will help me make better decisions. The doubts I felt are kind of obvious. Is this thing accurate? Reviewers online seem to think it's within 3.5%. That's close enough for me, but the numbers I saw varied a lot. More troubling was that my swing speed varied a lot on what felt like similar swings. It seemed like the SC200+ just missed it sometimes and showed a really low number. I loved the cool factor, but if numbers suck, I can't use it to improve my swing. Now that I've used it a little more and fiddled with my swing, I'm starting to see more consistent (and better) results. I'm starting to be able to feel the difference between between a 70 and 80 mph swing with an 8 iron. I'm hitting off of a gorilla matt. The SC200 seems to measure swing speed through impact. Hitting it fat has a big impact on swing speed. I can see the difference grip pressure, the stretch of those upper back muscles, and pivot vs. sway makes on results. Love it. Absolutely love it. ... show more
