I've used the venerable Sennheiser wireless guitar system for years. The sound quality and frequency finder have been great - even to this day, but my only beef with it has been the bulky receiver unit with the fragile antennas, not to mention the bulky transmitter that I'd have to duct tape to my strap (forget about clipping it on). But because of how well the unit performed, I ignored its shortcomings. Plus, with the lockdown, I wasn't playing out at all, so I put it away. But now I'm playing out again and rejoined a band I had played with several years ago. I was going to dust off my Sennheiser when I noticed that our other guitarist was using an Xvive system. Talk about convenience! I asked him about it and he sent me a link to purchase it. But before I bought it, I decided to do a bit of research and I stumbled upon the Swiff Audio WS-50. I liked that it was half the price of the Xvive, but more importantly, it operated in the UHF frequency range! When I was growing up, UHF was pretty crowded with TV channels, but that's no longer the case as almost all those stations have moved to cable. I felt that there was less chance of interference with competing signals. As for price, one could argue that it's cheap. But wireless technology is very mature at this point, so you shouldn't have to pay a lot for it, and its price is no indication of its sound and its build quality. I've already taken my original unit to five club gigs and four rehearsals and it has performed incredibly well. No interference, no static. Perfectly quiet. And the battery life is awesome! As for purchasing a second unit, I bought that one as a backup for when I do solo acoustic gigs, but also for my classic rock band where I play both acoustic and electric. It works great for both kinds of guitars! I totally jazzed by this system! Just a bit of warning: There's another system here called the Swiff WS-70 sold by Kapama Imports. I don't think that unit is from the same manufacturer. The Swiff Audio site here on Amazon doesn't list this unit, so I'd be very careful about purchasing the WS-70. It may very well be a good system, but having used the WS-50, I can attest to its quality. ... show more

    • A bit flimsy but great value for money

I have played the guitar for around 50 years and was a professional for a number of years back in the day. However, this is my first wireless system. After a couple of days of use I feel confident that this is a game changer. The only thing that bothers me a bit is the delicate build - the plastic and overall design is a bit flimsy. However, this thing is just great. It is very easy to use and living in a big house I have tried the wireless on all three floors and after that gone outside only to find that the signal strength is simply amazing. The signal goes through thick floors and playing outside, some 15 meters away, massive concrete walls were not an obstacle. I have made some tests - not very scientific I'm afraid - shifting from cable to wireless playing through a small Blackstar amplifier. If there is a difference in terms of sound and attack I have not noticed it. Shipping from California to Northern Europe only took a week and I was able to monitor the package at every stage. Great service by Westshell INC (and Amzon, I guess). So, in short, the SWIFF High-Grade Electronic Guitar Wireless System is in my view a wonderful thing. Keep in mind that it is bit of flimsy plastic but the advantage of using a wireless is just astounding and in terms of sound and flexibility the product is really superb. For home and studio use it is great. Shipping took seven days, as was stated when I made my order, and price with shipping and VAT was 101 US dollars. Of course, you will also value a purchase such as this with regard to durability and battery life. Obviously, I cannot provide any information after only a few days but the batteries seem to be holding out very well. I have not experienced any local interference (lights, radio etc.) So it's five stars for his product - it works very well, the value for money is great and after this there is no going back to using a cable! I can't speak on how long this would last since I just received it today. I also can't speak on range since I've only tested it about 25ish ft away. I can hardly rate it on equipment since I didn't connect it to an amp but to a ~3 ft tall speaker and to a "Squire JBass"... Based on what I have tried so far I'd say this is great, does the job. It's very nice looking, nice feel and quality. I noticed a little bit of humming but that was even quieter than when we used a cable, so not an issue. The only concern is that when I tap the Receiver it makes a bit of a clinky noise, like a cable is loose. Other than that I'm please and hope I can figure out how to edit this at a later date in case anything changes. ... show more

This was very well packaged and new as described. I love the easy push button on/off with the ability to change its frequency. It is much better than my old system that uses a slide button for on/off that sticks and doesn't always work. The visual charge indicator is a must have so you know it is on and approximate its service life. I haven't noticed any buzz or hum and it seems to pick up at a distance. Works actually better than expected. No latency, more range than you will ever need, great bandwidth, and will hold a charge longer than you will ever play. Lastly, the frequency used on this design is outstanding, and exceeded my expectations. Definitely worth the money I've spent on this!
