Purchased as a gift to my Husband for Father's Day as we live on the Gulf Coast, this drone is absolutely amazing to say the least. It carries the bait out for our lines with no problem, we're considerate of the winds when flying but it withstood 10 mi/hr winds with grace. We've spent the last few weeks down on the surf fishing. Definitely want to have back up spare batteries or a way to re-charge as it can go for about 4-5 trips (30 min fight time) and then needs recharged. After reading the instruction manual and calibrating the compass I launched the drone and after it hovered for about 1 second in the air, it crashed from the sky cutting my pants and leg with no remote response. Fortunately it hit me and not one of my children. I watched several videos and recalibrated the drone and decided to try again ( 10 on GPS signal). Flew up to about 30ft and tried to hover and drone to nose dive into ground. When I picked up the blades starting spinning without any remote controls. I expected a quality simple fishing drone at this price and was delivered junk. I have returned and will not be buying another swellpro. ... show more

    • Works great for dropping bait!
If your looking for a drone that is able to drop baits this is it. I didn’t get the camera or anything fancy just the basic drone setup with bait release. I have flown it a few times just to get use to it and understand the controls. The instructions that came with it are very easy to understand and helped me calibrate the compass, electronics, etc. although one thing to understand is the control display on the controller are metric. No big deal really you’ll just need to convert them in your head. I flew in winds that were gusting up to 20mph, carrying approximately 3 pounds without issue. Flight distance at the farthest was 300 meters. It could have went farther I just chose to drop it there. Battery life was sufficient to drop several times. Connecting to satellites and connecting the remote to the drone was easy and fairly quick. Charging the battery was roughly 45 minutes, I have purchased a second battery and plan on getting another. Make sure when ordering batteries you order the correct plug. This FD-1 model requires an XT90 connector. Im fairly new to drones and flying so my knowledge is limited, but this was a easy drone to learn and fly on. If you want a good solid work drone for fishing this is it. I have owned other drones which I use for land based shark fishing. This drone has features that make it easy for a novice to use. It performs extremely well in rain and wind. It exceeds my expectations and outperforms other Dones I've used for my shark fishing!

The manufacturer does not support its products. Please don’t waste your money like I did. The controller randomly went into firmware update mode and won’t get out of it, so I contacted the manufacturer. They told me to contact Amazon for support, sent my a 10 second video of two people fumbling with the controller and randomly pressing buttons while arguing in Chinese. ... show more
