    • More firm than medium-firm at first - Give it a week to break in and for your body to adjust to it
The shipping box is pretty damn heavy. I had to lay it on the side to pull the mattress out given how compact it was. Make sure you cut the plastic while the mattress is already on the frame because it practically leaps out of the plastic the moment it touches air. This bed is firm, not much give to it at all. (Edit: Give it about a week to break in. The bed got softer and far more comfortable after the first few bad nights) Coming from a memory foam mattress with sinking issues, this was exactly what i wanted. It expanded to 10 inches within minutes out of the plastic before hitting 11 and then 12 inches within a few hours. I let it expand in a warm room (70-72 degrees) for a full 72 hours before sleeping on it, though it was probably a finished product after about 36 hours. If you can wait the full 72 then I suggest you wait it out just to be certain it's fully expanded. The top material is very soft to the touch and well stitched. You can feel the coils prominently on the side of the mattress (not the top-edge but the actual side). That may bother some people but it changed nothing for me. I initially placed the mattress, bare, on a Novilla 16 inch Simplicity metal bed frame and it quickly became apparent that I'd need to add some vertical wooden bed slats to prevent the head and foot of the bed from dipping between the bars. So I purchased the covered version of the Greaton 0.75 Heavy Duty Vertical Wooden Bunkie Board to place on the bars beneath the bedskirt and the mattress is now perfectly level with full edge support all around. I'll update with my overall sleeping experience at the 3 month mark. EDIT: August 2025 'More than 3 months later' update: The bed is holding up incredibly well 7 months in. No issues or deformations thus far. It's as comfortable as when I first purchased it. Do make sure you rotate it every other week for the first 3 months. I wanted to wait a few months after purchasing to review to give as honest as possible review as I was very skeptical to purchase a rolled up mattress but for the price point and the good reviews, I took a chance. Man am I glad I did. The box was heavier than my old king mattress but I was still able to handle it on my own as I’m a pretty capable bigger guy (6’2 x 280Lb). Was really curious more than anything to see this in action and get a new mattress after having a Sealy for 12 years. This unit did not disappoint. I was worried being a large human that this wouldn’t be firm enough but here we are a few months in and I absolutely love it. It says medium firm and I would say it’s a little on the firmer side. The edges are ever so slightly softer yet still offer support. I sleep like a baby on this mattress, and I sleep just about on the edge as I have my wife, an 80Lb dog and at least one of 3 kids in the bed almost every night. Side was early perfect fit for my existing bed frame with leather wrapped rails running around it. I would say it might be 2” shorter on the width than my old mattress. This bed offers fantastic support and I will definitely purchase this style again due to the high performance. The quality is very good as well, seems very well constructed. Getting the box into place was not terribly hard. It said 2 person lift but I work for a living so I got it in my room and then opened he box, which was extremely well sealed with staples. After that there’s a small tool they give you that’s like a plastic credit car with a slot. In the slot is a blade and you just poke that into the plastic and cut it open. From there it rolled itself and we slept on jr within maybe 5/6 hours that night. It was definitely firm enough to enjoy. All in all I would buy again 10 times over. I am very happy with this bed. I spent weeks researching mattresses online once we decided we could not sleep on our super old hand-me-down bed any longer! I was only seeing medium to firm with most reviews leaning very firm but that is not what we wanted. I wanted something comfortable and on the softer side. After scrutinizing the reviews this one won us over. The price was incredible and I am so glad we got what we wanted! The two criticisms I will give is that it fits on our box spring a bit smaller than our previous king mattress and the edges are absolutely NOT reinforced at all. We don't sit on the edges of our bed for anything and it's pushed into the corner of our room so that is not an issue for us but may be for some. It is definitely softer than firm and I'd also say softer than medium too. It was a lot heavier than I anticipated but my husband and I (mid thirties) moved it without much trouble. There was a very small hole in the packaging so it didn't fly open as I read in another review once we cut the plastic but maybe it's due to the hole. I didn't notice much of a smell at all. It did take a couple of days to fully inflate (I don't feel like that's the right term but for lack of a better word...) but we slept on it about 5 hours after cutting the plastic and it was just fine. Our previous bed was sooo old that beat that it wouldn't have taken much to be better than what we had but we are really impressed with this one! I can't speak to longevity yet as we've only had it a couple of months but so far, very happy with our new mattress!! My husband has chronic back pain and he just mentioned recently that he has noticed a significant difference especially if he sleeps in or longer than usual and I agree with that too.
