Never heard of savage torpedo levels bought it to give it a try? Arrived on time very well built light is very bright hopefully it last long! You can feel the quality in the level with its weight compared to other levels and other then the sight holes, and battery compartment it is all aluminum, and the holes on each end for tie points to secure it to a teather is a nice touch ... show more

Ok so after buying two of these torpedo levels and using them every day in the plumbing trade I decided to buy a third for a coworker. The first one I bought for myself the second for my boss who loved the one I had. The light works great. Can't believe how handy it is. It seams I'm always in dark basements crawl spaces. Anyway we both use them every day and both have been dropped a few times. Both still work and none of the magnets fell out so far. I have mine around 6 months and it does get used every day five or six days a week. Other people have said the magnets fall out. That may be true it is an inexpensive level and is made in China. So far I have had no problems with the magnets or the lighting of the level. Also someone complained about light being accidentally turned in and killing the batteries. The light on the level only stays little for around 30 seconds then shuts off. I have not had any problems as far as that goes however the batteries that came with the level did not last very long. Not a problem worth complaining about for the price of this level. AAA batteries can be replaced easily and the energizer batteries last a long time using the light mode often. All around great little level. I would not be buying a third if I had problems with the first two. Also the magnets are strong. Others complained about that. The only other level I have seen with a more magnetic grip was a lenox level which I used for years and loved but the 45° level broke after dropping from an extension ladder. They don't make that level anymore as far as I know which led me to this one. ... show more

Seems gimmicky and unneeded right? Well so I thought, but I went ahead and purchased it anyways. As a commercial plumber, a pocket level is used constantly, and so I was looking for a high quality packet level. The construction is superb, the magnets are super strong, and the light-up bubbles are amazing. It is great in corners, chases, joists spaces, and anywhere else where light is limited. Its much more convenient to have a light-up vs trying to shine a trouble light on at a level and be blinded by the light. It also works well in fully lit areas as the bubble is much more pronounced and can be seen much easier from angles. I love this product. ... show more

The brightness of the lights on this level is matched perfectly with the vial color and size. It’s a solid piece of aluminum and machined pretty decently. The magnets are strong enough to hold the weight of the level in any magnetic flat surface, wet or dry. The light will turn off automatically after three minutes if you don’t manually turn them off with the push button. The battery compartment is not waterproof and it does use up the (2)AAA batteries pretty quick, that may be the only real downfall. A better battery cover with a robust seal would make this level the best on the market for lighted torpedos. ... show more

So as we all are I’m getting older and having more trouble seeing in lower light , and in the middle of remodeling my 104 year old house and desperately needed a level that I could see and that’s all I was Hoping for but i just got to say that i got way more than I expected ! This is the finest built level Ive ever used, it’s dead accurate and packed with some really handy features, along with the lighting ability but that’s not the best part , the best part is the way this thing feels in your hands ! The build quality is incredible, i honestly think this is one of the finest tools I’ve ever used and i also have other high end led levels but this one is now my go to , and also it seems to be made exactly like the more expensive Klein ! I've been doing commercial/industrial electrical work for almost two years now, and I bought this level very early in my career. Its been in my pouch every workday since. I've dropped it off ladders, I've used it as a hammer, and I've thrown in a few times when something wouldn't level out. This is the most durable level I've ever heard of. You would have to seriously try to break it. The light is awesome and still bright as ever. It acts up a bit when the batteries are low but thats expected. Having a light up level is an absolute lifesaver in dark crawl spaces or above drop ceilings, and people on the jobsite always comment on it. The reason I'm leaving a review after all this time is because today I dropped it off a scissor lift, 40+ feet in the air, twice. After the second time I looked at my boss and said "if that thing is still alive then I'm leaving a review when I get home." Here we are.
