Barlow lenses have limited usefulness but nice to have when you believe it is needed, especially considering the price is so low. Small enough to throw in a telescope bag. Surprisingly good optics. Came with lens covers and a sturdy small box that fits the lens snugly to prevent damage.

After using Barlows for half a century, I must say that this one blows away all the 1.25" models I've owned or used (but, caveat emptor: I have never tried a TeleVUE!) This just plain blew away my costly Orion Utrascopic 2x Barlow, and seems virtually 'transparent' with almost any eyepiece, compared to an equivalent FL ocular sans Barlow.     • Amazing quality for the price
Many moons ago I had a Orion 2x Barlow for twice the price.This Barlow performs better than that fully coated Barlow. This comes fully multi coated and has better barrel baffling, meaning less internal reflection. Technology has come a long way.

I took these images with my S20+ hooked up to a 25mm eyepiece inserted into this SVBONY barlow lens on my Celestron 70 LT telescope. Orion Nebula is a single 1 sec exposure iso 1600. Moon taken same way with 1/120 sec exposure and iso 64. The barlow gives 2x zoom with reasonably expected loss of light for the money. What you see will be darker than no barlow but that is to be expected. The loss of light from a $200 barlow will be significantly less and a little easier on the eyes.
