  • Excellent harp, Quality throughtout This is a lot of Harp for the money
Style: A
Update: 1/02/15 Been playing this Hammond in Key of A every day what A GREAT playing harp the Hammond is, the sticky #10 hole, Is totally GONE and is Not a problem at all it is just a fantastic playing harp. What a beautiful harp this is, feels very substantial in the hands, has a certain heft to it, defiantly heavier than my Manji. One problem though, #10 Hole Blow/Draw is NOT! To Responsive, Out of the box, and seems to be a little sticky, I also have another Hammond, in the Key Bb and it plays GREAT! I am Hoping that with some playing it will break in that Not so lively, sticky #10 Hole Blow/draw. Update: for Problem of the Sticky, POOR playing #10 Hole, Blow/Draw, I pulled the covers off, used a tooth pick, and Very Gently messaged the #10 hole, Blow and Draw reeds, pushing them up at the ends, and away from there seating position, moving them in this manner several times, moving them maybe 1/16"off there seat, then also did the #8 & #9 holes Blow/Draw reeds the same. This worked Great!, This Harp plays MUCH BETTER, It Actually plays Excellent!!! Now, and Like my other Hammond Harp does, maybe even Better, This fixed the problem, i Will now give the Harp a 5+ star rating, up from 4 star rating. I realize that Any Manufacturing can have some product that is not quite up to standard, and some that get out the door, that are marginal, some may be better than standard, it is just the way it goes, I am glad i got it fixed. Now it is a Awesome Harp. I will not compare the Hammond to the Manji, because they are both very nice, and both are great at what they do. But I will say that the Suzuki Hammond Harp is a fine Instrument, it has a Beautiful sound, and a very fine luxurious tone, I hope to be enjoying this for some time to come. The Black Covers are Nice Looking and slick on the Mouth/Lips The Black Comb also Nice and it is slick as well. Reeds and Comb and covers are held together by 9 screws. This is a air tight harp that plays really well, the back is open and the harp has a clean clear bright tone, that is loud when Loud is needed. I will be picking up a couple, few more of these. They are worth the money. One thing that I look for in a new harp is, How hard do I have to work for this new harp sound good, Also does it make me sound better than I am, or do i have to really work it, for the result wanted. I will note that the Reed plates stick out from the covers and comb, but! This harp is Very comfortable!! to play, no sharp edges anywhere, The Reed plates stick out the same on the Manji, and Fire Breath, and Promaster valved & non valved as well. If you Want a High Quality Professional Instrument, Not a toy, this is it ... show more

  • Love it...Thanks

Very happy with everything! The shipping was on time and the product it's self feels and sounds soothing, I fell in love with it at first sight. I've own harmonicas before like three I believe back in my younger years (I'm 20 now) and throughout those years I was on and off with playing by my own practice, no one taught me, I just enjoyed doing my thing on it and getting better. Playing the harmonica made me feel special even though the people around me were prob annoyed. It been awhile sense I've played/owed a harmonica until I fractured my hand and tore two tendents in my shoulder mountain biking; so I ended up out of work and bored out of my mind in bed so I went on Amazon and scrolled through all the harmonicas I had no clue about brands Nor models. My search was for something that will be best for me that would satisfy me forever. I also knew I was a beginner too so After searching and reading reviews I came down to this harmonica that I fell in love with because I heard it is easy to play for a beginner but is made to perform like a professional, also I heard the quality is great. The looks and color with the Symbol sold me and just puts the icing on top of the beatful cake for me. After impatiently waiting like three days my joy was delivered on time. Everthing was packaged nicely. After I tore through the Bubble wrap bag I saw the Beauty. The case felt nice on the outside. After I opened the case I finally saw the beaty and I also noticed the nice solf lining on the interior of the case. Then bam! I fercly but gently grabbed and picked it up. The weight felt nice and the quality of the harmonica felt solid. After playing It I was surprised how good It helped me sound lol. I love EVERYTHING about this peice it's EVERYTHING I wanted! I hope I never loose this item as I will try to have it in my pocket for the rest of my life. Thanks to all who helped me receive this! Here's some pics... ... show more

  • Love my Suzuki

I really do like the Suzuki Hammond. It feels better than any I have used so far and it sounds great. It’s a tiny bit harder to play then the Horner Marine Band which I also own. Only because the spaces between the holes are slightly smaller on the Suzuki. I highly recommend the Suzuki.

  • 100% satisfied

I'm pleased with my purchase bc this is a great harmonica. It looks great and feels great although it's a bit more slender or to be more exact, it's height is slightly shorter than what I'm use to. It's weight is barely much more than my other harmonicas but I kind of like that. In comparison to my other experiences I'd say it's far superior to a Hohner Special 20 which was my first real harp. However, there are some noticeable differences to my favorite which is the Hohner Crossover. I dropped my Crossover when getting in my car and drove off without it so I looked at this as a replacement bc I didn't want to pay the high retail of the Crossover again. So both were key of A. The hammond has a darker tone not as crisp and vibrant as the Crossover. And bending notes isn't as easy as it is with the Crossover. However it's a much more beautiful instrument and a significant amount less. And though only time will tell I hear it's much more durable than the Crossover. Even though Crossover is my favorite I'm giving this 5 stars bc the price is great, the aesthetics is superior, and it sounds beautiful. I'd recommend buying it but I'm not committed to one harmonica so next on my list to try is a Seydel. Eventually I'll come back to the Crossover but I am 100% satisfied with the Hammond and happy to add to my budding collection - I'm certain anyone would love this. ... show more
