I haven’t tried this air mattress in a car, but I’ve taken it out and looked it over. The pump can be plugged into the wall or into a car’s 12-V “cigarette lighter” outlet. There are five different inflation partitions and two pillows. The pump, as you can see from the photos, has three different connectors that allow you to inflate things with different sized openings. It comes with a carry bag that mostly fits the air mattress and the pump. The tricky part about car camping with a large air mattress like this would be: what do you do with the equipment you’ve brought along with you in the back of the car when you want to sleep back there? Some people make a platform in the back of their SUV or van and use the space under the platform for storage. That works pretty well, but you have to take the time and effort (and expense) of building the platform, and once you put it in, it’s kind of permanent. Still, if you have all that worked out, this air mattress seems well made and would be comfortable to use in the back of a car, or in a tent.

This SUV inflatible camping mattress is very well made. It is made of waterproof PVC material & it is flocked on one side to keep you comfortable. It has 6 air chambers in the mattress. If chambers 1, 3 & 5 are used, it inflates about 2/3 of the bed. If chambers 2, 4 & 6 are used, it inflates about 1/3 of the bed. If all chambers are used, it will inflate the entire bed. I was about to inflate chambers 1, 3 & 5 in the hatch section of my small SUV with the back seats down. I could deflate those 3 sections & inflate chambers 2, 4 & 6 to lay it down across my back seat. My SUV isn't big enough to inflate all 6 chambers. The mattress also comes with 2 inflatable pillows. Overall, the mattress is pretty comfortable. The mattress has a carrying bag with handles to store the mattress in when not in use. A small electric pump is included that has 3 different nozzles to inflate the mattress & pillows. It inflates very quickly. On the bottom of the pump there is a reverse flow port that can be used to deflate the air mattress & pillows. It deflates them quickly as well. A mattress repair kit is included to take care of any punctures that may happen.

It's as comfortable as any air mattress can be, and is a crazy value at $49 (time of this review). I'm actually using it in our big tent when we car camp in the mountains. Way nicer than the thin foam and air backpacking mattresses we typically use. No complaints here!

I use this in my 2024 Subaru forester. It’s a decent air mattress. And it fits fairly well - I wasn’t willing to shell out the $300 for the air mattress custom built for my car. There nothing about this mattress that makes it especially comfortable or durable or stand out from others, but it’s a totally decent option.

This air mattress sure beats sleeping on the ground in a sleeping bag! It’s made for any use you need. The two “sides” are actually one very large air mattress. It is very substantial, even heavy-weight. It feels to be very well made and it comes with a small repair kit, just in case you need it. It’s probably better as a 2-person setup because it’s so large. There are air openings in several places that need to be inflated, although the two pillows are separate and not required. If you want only one mattress, you inflate only one side and fold under the other side. I recommend inflating at home before setting out. Otherwise you’ll have to plug your pump into your car’s cigarette lighter; you can also bring a separate solar battery such as the Jackery with a cigarette lighter port. If you have too much air, your mattress will probably not be comfortable, but you can deflate by opening the air valve just a little. The pump comes with various sized funnels to choose from. Even though it takes work to get it all set up, the resulting good night's sleep will be worth it!

If you're taking your small children camping for the first time in a somewhat rustic setting, this is definitely a must have. It can go either on the floor, or in the back of your minivan, SUV or full size pick-up truck bed. It's easy to inflate (comes with its own pump to inflate AND deflate as well), has two pillows & a "divider" if you have two kiddos so each has their own side without fighting that one's crossing over to their side of the mattress. It's also coated with a velvet-y type of soft material on the top if you choose not to cover it with an air mattress sheet. And when you're finished with it, everything fits nicely into the carrying bag it comes with.

I inflated 4 chambers as a test and the quality of the material feels well made. The chambers inflated in a reasonable amount of time. This mattress can be used indoors or outdoors. It comes with 2 inflatable pillows as well as a tote bag to carry the mattress
