  • Survival matches
Style: Pack of 5
They light every time and stay lit. I am very happy with them can't wait to go camping

  • Hilariously Crappy Product.
Style: Pack of 5
Requires lighter fluid in the tube. The match is inserted in the tube and twists on to serve as the cap to keep the fluid in. When you take out the match to strike it on the side of the tube- which is now without a cap- the striking motion causes the fluid to splash out of the tube at the precise moment the match ignites…meaning that everywhere splashed with fluid is instantly on fire. Almost burned a countertop and husband. All 5 are now in the trash as there were no redeeming qualities at all. ... show more

  • Make fire and put it where you need it.
Style: Pack of 5
These where easy to ignite. The give a strong flame for duration of the fuel soaked wick. Easily enough time to move flame to kindling, or seal the cut end of poly rope. Edit: I continue to use these in place of regular matches around the house. Most commonly sealing poly rope cut ends, but also fireplace starting. Two common mistakes: When striking it easy to spill fluid from the container. Easy solution, I always make a point to put my thumb over the opening. Even if I'm careless and invert or slosh the fluid I'm only getting a small bit on my thumb, and its not exposed to sparks or flame. When using, when the fuel in wick has burned off, blow it out before the wick burns. You can re-dunk the wick and start again. In this way you won't have to replace burnt wicks. ... show more

  • Interesting.
Style: Pack of 5
Kind of a neat idea but not practical. I did get them to light. getting the right amount of lighter fluid seems to be the key, too much fluid, it wets the flint and no spark, not enough fluid and it burns up the wick pretty fast. Also, as a safety note, I did start the outside of the container on fire a few times while getting it right. It is lighter fluid not gasoline, unless you do something stupid it can be easily blown out. I thought it was different, kind of interesting and for the price what were you expecting? ... show more

  • Nice Gift For Camping Enthusiasts
Style: Pack of 5
Great Novelty Gift for Outdoor and Survival Enthusiasts This set of SURVIVE Permanent Matches makes a great small gift, especially for outdoor enthusiasts or those who appreciate survival and tactical gear. They strike and light reliably, which is impressive for such a compact tool. However, I do have some concerns about durability — the bodies and threads are plastic, so I’m unsure how well they’ll hold up over time, especially in wet or rugged conditions. That said, my camping buddies and a few friends with military backgrounds genuinely appreciated the gift. A fun and useful novelty to keep on a keychain or in a pack. ... show more

  • Good to have in an emergency
Style: Pack of 5
I have no other purpose for this other than an emergency or if someone needs to light a candle for a party. It came in a multipack so I can give away the other 3. I always like to have a backup anyways. It has a seal to prevent the lighter fluid from leaking. The lighting of the match took a few tries to learn but it was not hard after watching the video. I had no issue with it leaking or spilling fluid. You only put enough fluid to go up 2/3 full or you will have too much inside. For the price, it is a good value. For the design, it is unobtrusive and small enough for a pocket. It is lightweight and feels durable. ... show more

  • Very Poor Quality; Choose another brand
Style: Pack of 5
The tiny thumbscrews are difficult to tighten and loosen. A larger knob would really help. On several occasions, I had to use pliers to unscrew the match, and I was careful not to cross-thread any of them. Speaking of which, a couple of them were very difficult to keep from cross-threading. At almost every attempt to screw them in straight, they would suddenly cant and try to go in at an angle. I tried turning them backwards (in the unscrewing direction) to feel for the threads to align, but I couldn't feel it. Finally, most egregious, is that two of the 5 containers leak. One leaks so fast that I can't get it filled fast enough to see the fluid pooled in the bottom of the canister, much less to the midpoint as the instructions indicate. The other leaks more slowly, and I didn't realize it at first. I filled the container according to the instructions, wiped up what I thought must be spillage, and started to break-in the flint. On the 3rd or 4th strike, the match lit, but so did the bottom of the canister. It began to burn my hand. After I extinguished the flame, I held the canister high and watched as fuel slowly pooled and dripped from the bottom. So, after this experience, I decided that these are unreliable garbage and a safety hazard. I proceeded to process a return, and to my surprise, they wanted me to ship them back even though I have already poured fluid in them. I'm not 100% on laws about shipping flammable liquids, but I'm pretty sure that I can't ship anything that is leaking fuel. I guess the set was cheap enough that I can throw the leaking ones away and hope that the other ones don't fail, but I don't have much faith in that idea. I'll probably find another brand that works as advertised and get rid of all 5 of these. The savings isn't worth the burns. ... show more
