I purchased these foil emergency blankets for reasons that were, at the time, impeccable—though accessible only to my sleeping mind. In the first dream, I knew with absolute certainty that I required them. The situation was urgent yet undefined, the sort of emergency that demands preparedness without ever troubling itself to explain why. The blankets shimmered with purpose. I felt reassured. In the second dream—deeper, clearer—I was already using them. I was warm. I was safe. I was nobly wrapped in reflective dignity, protected from the elements and from regret. The blankets performed flawlessly, exactly as one hopes emergency equipment will, even when the emergency itself remains symbolic. Then I awoke. Upon inspection, the world was calm. No exposure, no crisis, no immediate need for thermal intervention. The blankets remained folded, pristine, and faintly judgmental. I realized then that while I may someday require one foil emergency blanket, I almost certainly do not require four. And yet, I do not resent them. These blankets are compact for a perfect easy storage. We used these for bug out bags to teach our kids to always have a bag ready! These are thin but great quality and were exactly what we needed. They also used them for their survival day for school to block out the rain and cold weather which made for a great waterproof roof. They’re just silver easy to us thin emergency blanket. I bought these to line boxes to leave for feral cats during freezes. They worked great for that. It's basically just mylar and very lightweight so I was able to just tape it along the inside of the box and then fill it with straw on a self-warming pad and all of the cats successfully made it through sub freezing temperatures. We will keep some of them on hand to have an emergency but I'm very happy with it. It is very lightweight and wouldn't hold up to a heavy wind if you had it wrapped around you but great to have it a pinch and certainly worked for why I needed it.

You can carry this in your cars glove compartment, it is very small and compact, if you wanted you can carry this in your purse or pocket it’s very thin, a little bit bigger than a sports card.

I have these in all my First Aid kits, and they come in a nice compact size perfect to be tucked away and not taking up too much space in your bags. Once they are unfolded, they are pretty big to cover an average size adult, but a second one may be needed for a very tall person so carrying two in your kit is best. They definitely hold in the body's heat, good quality and does not tear easily making it perfect to use not only as a blanket but also to wrap over the shoulders if needed.

This is a really good bargain for such a large supply of mylar blankets. They have many uses besides for emergencies to keep out excessive heat or cold. I of course always keep one in my glove compartment for emergencies, but I also use these for other purposes as well. For example, I am allergic to perfume and other scented products and personal body care products, which tend to get on chairs at doctor's offices, exam tables, airplane seats, hotel mattresses, and so on. Therefore I always have these with me when I travel and I can cover a mattress and then put my own sleeping bag sheet or other sheets on top of it. It's a little crunchy under the sheets, but it keeps the smell of the laundry soap from soaking through my own sheets and from emitting odor into the room and around where I'm laying on the bed. It's also great for putting on chairs and seat seats in planes and doctor's offices so I don't get perfume and scented laundry products on my clothing - which sometimes is impossible to get out even after washing and soaking. Some of the newer mylar blankets in the stores also have this waterproof layer that smells like the most hideous burnt rubber smell or something, and these blankets do NOT have that layer on them.

These things are miracles. How are they able to hold so much body heat in? I have them for emergencies but I also use one on bitter cold nights. I put it under my bed blankets and no matter how cold it gets I feel like a toasted burrito. These are super light and compact when folded, are shiny like tin foil, are dead simple to use, and surprisingly durable given how thin they are. They look kind of like flexible tin foil but doesn't crumble or tear nearly as easily. Recommended. Would definitely buy again.
