Well, I've never used these, and I hope I never have to. Still, they're a must for the car, the camping gear, and the home survival kit. I took off 1 star because they aren't as heavy-duty as others I've had, but they're certainly better than nothing. Makes a *great* cheap gift too!!!

This review is based on the homeless to whom I've donated these blankets. These blankets serve two purposes. One, they keep the homeless warm by retaining their body heat while sleeping on the sidewalk. Two, They repel rain and keep them warm when it rains, as it is now raining in California. They'll place a blanket over themselves and the emergency blanket to keep them dry and warm. I don't know how long they last since they're not meant to be used on a daily basis. I purchased these specifically for my grow room. I use them to line the walls as reflectors for my hydroponics and seed bench systems. I wrapped fiberglass tape to the edges and then tacked them to the wall. The tape supports and prevents tear through the thin material.
