I grew up skating and JBing with my friends. While looking to get a bit more active as an adult I wanted to get into rhythm skating and find a good pair of starter skates. after extensive research I learned REIDELL is king but also expensive. I found a lot of skaters would wear Sure-grip and some swear by their wheels. After comparing cheaper types from Chicago and others I decided on Sure Grip Fames. I am very happy with my purchase. First off it came early so that is always good in my book. The skates are brand new, need adjustments but what skates don’t need some adjustment. I have not gotta out on the floor with them yet just around my place and I had to take the off because they are so comfortable and my apt flooring isn’t skate around friendly lol. True to size for me I wear a 9 narrow to med Wi date adn these fit perfectly snug but my toes aren’t crunched. I measure my foot in inches and mm to make sure. These are the first pair of skates I have ever purchased I would always rent speed skates. I do plan on replacing my bearings and wheels asap. I am 140 so I don’t think the nylon plate will be a problem. I plan on using these for indoor and outdoor use until I can save to get a pair of OGs or Juices. In conclusion… - they fit true to size. I am a 9 narrow but my feet can swell a bit and the feet comfortable while wearing them around. - lining id the softest lining I have felt in a skate ever. - The price, quality and reputation of the brand can’t be beat if you don’t have REIDELL or Chicago Lifestyle money. - The writing on the wheels are clearly messed up but honestly it looks more intentional design than malfunction so its honestly not a big deal its a wheel people. I will update this review in a few months after some real world use. But I am very happy with my purchase so far.

I am a beginner skater. These are by far the best skates I have ever tried coming from someone with two left feet. I could never balance on skates and used to fall all over the place, not to mention skating around the rink was nearly impossible without causing accidents. With these skates I do truly feel more confident as they feel like they have great traction on the rink floor. I didn't fall even once and I was able to skate around with some level of confidence. My feet were so comfortable in these and they fit amazing. The plate is nice and tight on turns which I like since I'm new to the skate community and it helps me learn how to balance and move during my lessons. All equipment is adjustable. I will be getting a pair of sure grips boardwalk wheels when I'm ready to skate outside for more practice. I truly recommend these to any beginner to two left feet! My instructor thought I could actually skate well enough to make it around the rink and told me with enough practice I could be great within a few weeks. That was such a a compliment coming from her since I have only been skating for 1 weeks fully. Get these skates! You won't regret it!

After returning Roller Derby brand for not fitting, Chicago Bullets for alignment issues, I settled on the Sure-Grip Fames. They are a bit stiff however still comfortable. Tested them last night and being the novice that I am, I had a ball. Nice roll after slight adjustments. Excellent maneuverability. Only negative are the rivets holding the plate to the boot, no bag and no skate tool. I am very pleased with my decision.

Let me tell’ya about these Fames… BUY THEM, JUST BUY THEM. 3 hour sessions, absolute comfort. When I’m done, absolute comfort to my feet back to slides. I’m blown away about these skates. All around, I rate 20 out of 10. F the print on the wheels. It’s actually a reflective print (at least on mine) that at an angle it goes away. And even a rookie will want to change their bearings, and wheels to their favorite color! So my point is is that it’s not a big deal. When you look down on 8s you can’t see the side of the wheels anyway. I’m telling you people. If you want a comfortable skate, HERE THEY ARE. Also I upgraded my cushions to sure grip 85a purple. But they look black on my skates, which is cooo wit me anyway! Jeez, was it a difference IMO to the movement of my trucks. To me, should be the FIRST thing you do. I mean, $16 for all 8 cushions. Old, or new to skating I promise you’ll be happy with these. And I’m just a normal, 42 year old dude, truck driver. I bought these skates, and all upgrades myself. Not talking for Sure Grip, nor Amazon. 100 percent real review here.

These skates are pretty durable I’m an old school disco skater and they totally brought back my muscle memory. I have about 22 hours on these skates and within the first two weeks I was able to remove the stops and insert dance plugs. The wheels are very good they’re a hybrid wheel whereby they work we’ll on the pavement, tennis courts, and smooth basketball courts. Worth the investment if you’re just getting back into the groove of skating. Please don’t forget the essentials such as safety gear i.e. risk guards, butt pads, and knee pads. Remember, it’s not a matter of if you fall, it’s a matter of when you fall. The pros even fall but be of good cheer and skate on !!!

These skates are EXTREMELY comfortable. I'm not sure how long they'll last since they're glued and not stitched. However, I do plan to upgrade in a year or two (so hopefully they can last until then). I'm glad I read several reviews on reddit and sized down to a 5. I'm a true Women's 7 and these skates fit perfect. There is a major alignment issue with my left skate. Rolled them across the floor to see what I needed to adjust with wheels and trucks. Left skate definitely has an alignment issue. Adjusted trucks and bushings and still turns inward. Will need to exchange.
