I ordered this glow in the dark bat wing shrug because I love bats and wanted a shrug with wings to wear for parties and pictures. The shrug arrived with the bat ear headband and looked as described in the bottom (front/back view photo). The fabric is a soft, lightweight polyester with a slight stretch to it. The black is a rich black and when worn, doesn't fade when stretched. There was no fading of color or shrinkage when I placed this into a laundry bag and washed it with my regular laundry. I then hung the shrug to dry so that there was no cracking or shrinkage to the glow in the dark outlining on the back of the wings. The fabric dries quickly and could be placed in the dryer with just air fluff. I would not recommend using fabric softener or dryer sheets as they may interfere with the glow in the dark aspect of the wings. The shrug was well made and should last many seasons and I enjoy the compliments and comfortable fun I get to add to my wardrobe. I ordered the L/XL because I have long arms (5'6"/150lbs/22.5" L arms) and don't like things to feel tight and the shrug fits well without the sleeves riding up and I don't feel any discomfort or shifting of fabric when moving my arms so I feel like the quality of design was done really well. The shrug closes with a black plastic snap that is easy to open and close but has not popped open during use as of yet. I've had this about 3 months now and use it weekly for photos or to wear out for the evening. The glow in the dark outlining is well done and when you take it outside into direct sunlight to recharge, will stay lit the entire night and more before slowly fading out. I've also used a very bright flashlight to charge the glow up and it is bright and lasts the night. The ears also glow and performed as expected and fit my head without digging in. I don't wear them often, as I have others I prefer, but these were adequate for a costume and are really cute. Prior to opening however, my ears/headband bag had a dead bug/fly? inside that had smooshed into the fabric on 1 ear so I did have to clean them a little more than the shrug and with a mild detergent and warm water, I was able to hand wash the ear, blot it dry between 2 towels and then let air dry the rest of the way and they look good as new and still glow when charged up, very brightly so I was impressed. Overall for the price point, I would order these again to share as a gift for others I know who love bats and would love to have their own bat wings. I would also recommend this shrug with ears to family and friends who might want a bat costume for Halloween or dress up and as a gift for that bat lover in your life. ... show more

After having weight-loss surgery 10 months ago, and having lost 154 lbs so far, I obviously am dealing with some excess and loose skin (especially on my biceps). When I saw this batwing shrug, I had to get it because it's an inside joke in our family...we call the flappy arm skin batwings, so to be able to have actual batwings to wear just elevated the joke. Besides, I do enjoy dressing in a Gothic/Alternative style in my daily life, so I plan to wear this batwing shrug out and about like I would wear any regular shrug. This batwing shrug costume set comes with the shrug and a bat ear headband. The shrug is made out of a stretchy material...kind of similar to the material in a workout/athletic shirt. Since the material is thin, I would suggest wearing a long sleeve shirt underneath if you want to keep warm. The shrug is very easy to get in and out of...all you do is put your arms in the sleeves and button the little snap at the neck (the length isn't adjustable and the small is not adjustable, so just be mindful of that. I do appreciate that these batwings accommodate my batwings, so my arm skin isn't strangled or squished at all. I would definitely recommend this batwing shrug and bat headband to anyone.     • I like the concept, but the construction is lacking

I almost love these wings. As a bat lover, I really like the concept, and they do look really cool, but the construction just isn't there. It looks almost unfinished, with several loose hanging threads I had to snip off, and the edges of the wings and the back are unfinished and raw. I am genuinely afraid to wash this shrug as some parts of the edges are already fraying after one night (barely four hours) of use. The fit of the shrug is really awkward as well. The sleeves are snug and not too bad alone, but the torso opening is so wide that the wings hang several inches away from my body when I raise my arms. I can try to pull the sleeves up, but it creates bunching around the neckline/torso opening, and they slide back down within seconds anyway. The bottom half of the sleeves barely cover half my arm. It's rather uncomfortable to wear. Luckily, I have a little bit of sewing skill, so I may be able to attempt some alterations, but until then, I likely will not be wearing this again. As for the ears, which look more like horns, they're small triangular pockets of glow-in-the-dark fabric glued over a plastic cat ear headband and not very well. One of them is already peeling off, and there's glue extending out from the corners in plain sight. The obvious fabric grain isn't even going in the same direction, and there are creases in the fabric I can't pull out because of how it was glued. The headband itself has several teeth along the top of the inside, which I assume are supposed to help hold it in place, but they kind of just hurt. I'd recommend snipping them off and sanding it smooth if possible. Now, would I recommend this product? Not really. Perhaps if you're on a budget, there are worse choices. It does genuinely look like how it's advertised, and maybe your body proportions are more suited than mine, who knows? ... show more
