  • Fantastic Board, Not Quite E-ATX
It's a Supermicro motherboard. Not much bad can (usually) be said about their stuff. Mine has 2 2640 v3 Xeons and 128GB of registered RAM. Once I had it installed, it booted right up without a single hiccup. FreeBSD was installed in a matter of a minute, and I was off and running. The installation part, however, was a bit tricky. SM says it's an "E-ATX" board, but, well, it isn't. I have it installed in a Cooler Master HAF X case, and Cooler Master doesn't screw up when it comes to where the stand-offs should be for each sized board. This motherboard's bolt holes didn't line up properly. Specifically the corner hole near the "rear" input panel (where the USB, keyboard, video, LAN, etc plug in) and the bolt hole next to it are in the wrong spot. There's no way to get a stand-off to line up. Mine is sitting in the case without support in that one corner, but since it's mounted vertically, it won't matter as much. Mind you, all of my previous SM boards were installed in: SM server cases. This is the first time I've tried to install an SM board in someone else's case. So bear that in mind if you're considering this board. ... show more

  • Good board
It’s a bit dated, but it was ideal for harvesting a couple Xeon CPUs out of older servers to build a big workstation. Does not wake up from sleep correctly in Win10. Has to disable sleep states in the bios. Not a deal breaker to me, but cost it one star on principal.

  • DOA waiting for exchange
This board is exactly what I need but unfortunately it's DOA. Did the troubleshooting with Supermicro and they confirmed. Waiting to here back from seller for an exchange and will then update review.

  • Great for building servers
Everything I want in a motherboard, and more. I just wish CPU 1 had two x8 pcie slots in exchange for one of its x16 slots. My x8 graphics card is occupying a x16 slot, wasting half its bandwidth.
