Description

SUPERGIRL: WOMAN OF TOMORROW 1 Named by James Gunn as an influence for Gods and Monsters, the first chapter of the new DC Universe film and television slate! This story will be adapted as the upcoming SUPERGIRL film. It’s Supergirl like you’ve never seen her before, in a character-defining sci- fi/fantasy masterpiece from Mister Miracle writer Tom King and Wonder Woman artist Bilquis Evely! Kara Zor-El has seen some epic adventures over the years, but finds her life without meaning or purpose. Here she is, a young woman who saw her planet destroyed and was sent to Earth to protect a baby cousin who ended up not needing her. What was it all for? Wherever she goes, people only see her through the lens of Superman's fame. Just when Supergirl thinks she's had enough, everything changes. An alien girl seeks her out for a vicious mission. Her world has been destroyed, and the bad guys responsible are still out there. She wants revenge, and if Supergirl doesn't help her, she'll do it herself, whatever the cost. Now a Kryptonian, a dog, and an angry, heartbroken child head out into space on a journey that will shake them to their very core. Get a special mini-version of the first issue in this epic series.

A Superb Supergirl movie
Saw this in theaters and loved it, the script and story were better than new Superman movie. I do not want to post spoilers, it is annoying that critics are raking it over the coals and never even watched it. Milly Alcock has done a superb job as Supergirl I hope to see her in more of them.

Awesome film
First of all, I think it’s dumb that this already has a review and it’s not even out yet. Second of all, this movie was great. I don’t trust critics (or many males, for that matter) with this movie. It clearly isn’t made for them anyway. If you’re looking for a heartfelt movie about a girl trying to save her dog (and beat up a few pedos along the way), then look no further. I, for one, am excited for this product to come out! ... show more

Better than they say
Obviously I don’t have the physical copy yet, but I will buy it. Here’s the truth about this movie: Is it flawed? Yes. But for what it is, and what it’s trying to be, it’s an 8/10. Compared to James Gunn’s Superman, it’s much more adult oriented, darker and grittier. It deals with heavier themes. It also has a lot more action and fighting. The soundtrack is awesome (lots of needle drops). The performances are all great (whether you agree with the casting or not). And it’s mostly true to the graphic novel it’s based on (Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow). There are some deviations from the source material, some I actually like, and some they did to condense the story and it wasn’t for the better… like taking away the villain’s backstory and motivation. The flaws are that. The villain is just a generic, white, Russian-accented bad guy who’s evil for no reason (Superman also had one of these). He’s a space pirate so whatever it works, but it’s very 2-dimensional. There’s a little bit of sparse, clunky dialog & mediocre writing. And a tiny bit of weak CGI. Considering how much of this movie is CGI, and most of it being good, it’s not so bad it ruins the movie, but yeah there’s some scenes it’s at least noticeable. Milly Alcock is not my first choice for the role, but I think she nails the performance and I have zero complaints other than she just wouldn’t be my first choice. I also am old enough to remember when they used real animals in movies so seeing a CGI dog doing regular dog things seems silly, they should’ve cast a real dog as Krypto and used CGI when he’s doing things you can’t train a dog to do. Over all I had a lot of fun watching the movie, far more than I expected to based on the reviews. And I actually saw it a second time (I have an unlimited cinema subscription) and still liked it. All the hate is manufactured. This isn’t the 1989 Batman or LOGAN… but it’s pretty good. ... show more

The DCU is starting off strong
I took my family to see this, and we all loved it so much that I pre-ordered the next day. The DCU is starting off strong for comic fans. You'll definitely have a blast watching it.

I just had to
Obviously, I haven’t bought the steel book for this film yet, but I just wanna let everyone know not that it really matters. Supergirl wasn’t that bad wasn’t Morbius bad it wasn’t the Marvel’s bad in my opinion. It’s a solid C minus to a flat C. And this is coming from From, a guy who has never read the source Material of any Supergirl comic book issues so I totally understand if everybody who read or has a understanding of the best Supergirl comic book I’ve been hearing over and over, a woman of tomorrow, and this movie is what they got. I do feel bad, but I didn’t really think it was that bad very cliché movie but I thought it was OK. ... show more

You will believe a girl can fly
I just came back from watching the movie and I loved it! A refreshing take on Superhero movies. A character study movie filled with heart, humor and action. Milly Alcock was exceptional and you will believe she’s Supergirl. I just had to get the steelbook a good addition to my growing collection.

Amazing Movie
Movie was amazing, saw it in theaters and needed it on a physical copy. Ignore that other review, people (MEN) are being misogynistic towards this movie. Give it a chance and watch it yourself. Form your own opinion and most importantly enjoy the movie!
