I was looking for a solid winch for my 2018 Polaris RZR 570. I didn't want to spend the $400+ for the Polaris brand just because it would be a direct harness wiring. The instructions on this unit are ok. I created documentation as part of my work duties, so I'm a little critical when it comes to instructions. I feel like they missed a few steps and I had to reach out to their support to find out what the "extra" parts were for. After a couple emails back and forth it was determined they were extra. The install hardware itself was good quality. After some googling, I was able to figure out how to wire it to the ignition by using an accessory wire that was tied up and hidden. I haven't had the opportunity to pull myself out of it yet, but it seems to work fine from what I can tell.

If you have a little common sense, you can install this winch. I installed this on my 2019 Polaris xp4 1000. I already had the landing bus for the battery neg and positive. Also the accessory wire lead for ignition is also at this point. I used the black ops mounting plate as well. Smooth install. One thing to remember is if Your putting this in a SxS, buy the winch toggle too. The supplied switch will not fit into your dash unless you want to do some cutting. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy again. I’ll post progress as I use the winch. This is based solely on install.

Directions were a bit hard to follow. Not too bad for me, but for a novice might be an issue. Was difficult using the viper mount but it was well made. Motor bolts line up perfect but you have to redrill the front guide to fit the front holes. I was able to mount the switch box in the battery accessory compartment which should help it last longer out of the weather. Mounting on the back of the winch bracket was not easy. Front suspension could hit it. I have a 2020 Yamaha kodiak 700.

I contacted support and they said that there is no plate that fits my specific 2014 Yamaha grizzly 550. I bought this recently with the intention of putting a winch on it and after doing my homework there was one available so I bought this specific atv. Now I’m screwed. The universal plate does not fit and they don’t make one that does. Update: When I contacted Support on superatv.com. They asked for my order number and could not find it. Not sure why. Anyway, I found a mounting plate that works. It was a little tight but I got it in. The one included is the wrong size. The holes need to be about 5 inches apart and not the 4 1/4 that it came as, I also had to grind one of the bolts down because it was hitting the frame to get the yellow cable on. It was just barely too long so far so good. I will update this when I get more information. So here’s the rest of the story. Initially I called Superatv because it listed them as support from the manufacturer. They could not find that I bought it at Amazon. Not sure why. After telling them what I bought, they said the generic plate does not fit my atv. They had no replacement. That’s why the initial review. I found a product on Amazon that was specific to my specific model and bought it. The holes were slightly off but that could have been it was bent or mine was bent. Got it installed and had some minor adjustments and got it installed and working. My question is why did they say it was compatible with mine? It does mention about possibly buying a different plate. But not easily recognized when reading. Plus superatv said they discontinued that plate and there was not a replacement. This superatv was the only brand I could find that was compatible. The demand is small since mine is 2014 so I don’t expect much for them to fix the documentation, etc. documentation on the winch was nonexistent and I had to rely on various videos to see how to install. Even for the replacement plate. Also, the box you hook it altogether. No place to hook it. I finally put it in the rear storage under the seat. 2 of those cables, the blue and yellow barely reached. So why did they say it was compatible? The only thing I see is it fit in the area only. Nothing else. The last issue I had was the plate for where the cable goes through. It was way to small so I had to order a replacement for this new plate. After all the headaches, I finally got it working for my dump scoop which is what started this project. LOL
