The metal stand is easy to set up and it's sturdy! There are 6 holes in each end of the hammock frame bars and there are 2 metal hooks that screw into them, 1 on each side. The hooks are simple to install and remove which allows for easy adjustment of the hanging height and tension of the hammock. When assembled this stand does not take up a huge amount of space like some others on the market. I love that it is compact, can be easily taken apart and comes with a sturdy zip up storage bag with handles that will make winter storage a snap! The hammock fabric is a nice weight and quality and the weave allows for air circulation. The stripe colors are vibrant and happy. It's also a nice generous size and oh so comfortable. The cords at each end of the hammock are sturdy and the metal loops at the ends of the cords are easy to attach to the stand hooks and hold it securely on the frame. This also makes it easy to remove the hammock and store it indoors during the night or when the summer weather occasionally turns foul. I've had this hammock for about 2 weeks now and it is my new lounge and reading spot for the rest of this summer and hopefully many years of summers to come. Very happy!

Picked this up during the Prime event from Amazon Warehouse as a damaged box deal at around a 25% markdown price, and we are so glad we did! The frame and hammock were in perfect condition. Setup was super quick and easy. Took a few tries to find the perfect height setting for the hammock, but once we did it worked like a charm. Everyone that has climbed into it instantly loves it, especially the kids. It's the perfect place to cozy up with a good book. When you lay in it, it's more of a cocoon style, Brazillian hammock, not one of the longer flatter styles. However, we quickly figured out that you can use it for sitting without actually opening it up if you sit down at the right angle. I would highly reccomended this if you want a good sleeping hammock, but have no trees to use, or just for something to put up poolside. It's not a social type hammock, but the small footprint of the frame makes this the perfect place to read a book after a dip in the pool. After a month and a half of constant use, the frame and hammock show no real signs of wear. The plastic caps protecting the base ends are getting scuffed pretty badly, and I don't see them lasting too many summers. Would be nice if they included extras, but I don't really see this as a reason to pull a star from an otherwise excellent product.

I hesitated for nearly a year before buying this. What a mistake! This hammock made my summer and I regret not having it last year as well! The hammock arrives disassembled and it is easy to put together. You can do it in about 10 or 15 minutes with no tools. I like the neutral colors of the cotton hammock, and the fabric is durable enough to leave outside. If you desire a brighter color, it is easy to order a different hammock canvas from this line and just fix it to the frame instead. The canvas wraps around you and I can say from experience that it supports two adults, though it's quite cozy when both of us are lying in it. Not a problem if you are a couple! :) One bonus that I wasn't expecting is that the hammock and frame come with a carrying case! I pack it up during the winter and store it inside to help it last longer. It's about 35 pounds, which is portable but perhaps not as light as more hiking-oriented equipment. It would be find to take car camping or to the beach once in awhile. I didn't get the sense that it would hold up to being taken apart on a weekly basis, but a couple of times a year should be fine. Pay attention to the dimensions: it does take up the better part of 14 feet when it's assembled. I have a small, shared balcony on my apartment and it just barely fits. My one complaint about this hammock is that when you swing in the hammock (and isn't that the fun part of using one?) the cords that secure the canvas to the frame tend to brush against the wingnut on whichever side your head/chest is on and they are starting to fray. I wrap a small towel around it to lessen this. I wish the design included a rubber or plastic cap to cover the wingnuts so they wouldn't do this, though. For this flaw, I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could, but it really has transformed how I enjoy my balcony. I take afternoon naps in it and lounge with a cocktail or a glass or wine at night. Either way, I feel like I'm on vacation whenever I'm in it.

I wouldn’t call it exactly portable, like I wouldn’t carry it on a hike or a beach trip, but it’s easy to move around the yard, and to take apart if you want to set it up elsewhere for a few weeks. The parts are really hard to fit back in the bag; I wouldn’t plan to move it often. But the colors are beautiful, and it’s comfortable for two adults.

I looked at a lot of hammocks and decided on this one. Got it two weeks ago and have used it everyday after work and on weekends. I use it laying on or sitting crossways and both are very comfortable. My husband has gotten on it with me. We do not weigh 400 lbs total so I can't judge the max weight, but it worked great for us. I would recommend - easy to assemble, and having the different levels of pulling the hammock tighter is great! After rocking in it two weeks I finally had to tighten the easy grip screws.
