I was delighted when this first arrived. Not so much now. At first, I was happy with the quick arrival and easy set up. Neighbors were asking about the product and all seemed great. Now, after just a few weeks, the finish has peeled off a significant part of the ball or top portion and a large part of the rim exposing the cheap white plastic. The pump only works periodically and even when it does "work" --- it only pumps out a very small amount so the water is only a slow trickle at best. Looks terrible. Cleaning the pump hasn't worked and there is nothing that can be done to stop the peeling. I'm afraid to touch it because more comes off every time I do. If the product had continued to work as it did when it arrived, I would be quite happy. For this price, the quality and performance that a few weeks of use has shown is EXTREMELY disappointing. Keep looking. Unless you want to pay two hundred or so dollars for a cheap white plastic lawn ornament this isn't worth the expense. ... show more

    • Solar and Battery for On-Demand Preformance
We really enjoy this fountain. Understanding how the solar and battery function work will provide you hours of enjoyment. The battery will charge, to some degree, in any light. The fountain will run off solar directly, only if the battery is charged AND there is direct, bright sunlight (yes, filtered sunlight is not enough). However, as long is there is a charge in the battery, you can push the "on" button on the rear of the solar panel and the fountain will run in any light and even at night (where the LEDs provide a point of interest). On a fully charged battery, the fountain will run for at least a few hours. So if you have a garden party coming up, just don't use the battery in the few days before to make sure you have a charge and then at the time of your party you can run off the battery. The directions recommend that you fully discharge the battery occasionally to maintain maximum battery life. ... show more

Beautiful fountain. Water stopped pumping after two weeks. Did not come with a battery charger and now the battery is depleted.

This fountain is great but doesn't work all day and then all night, it is one or the other. It is either on all day or turns on when it gets dark. I wish it was both but maybe the solar isn't strong enough to do both? It looks and works well when it is on... The light is a nice touch for night use.

Product worked as advertised and looks as pictured. It was very easy to set up and 6-8 hours of solar charging returned almost as much fountain running time.
