Worked well to screen my balcony from the neighbor's bedroom windows and back patio. NOTE: It comes folded up, so first I ironed it on a low setting with steam to hammer out the wrinkles. Then I simply tacked it up to my cedar deck railing with about 20 heavy-duty staples from my staple gun, leaving a couple inches open on the bottom and the sides for some extra ventilation. Some other reviews said there was an 'opaque side' but to my eye this product is the same on both sides. So I chose to put the seam-side down, just for visual aesthetics. The brown-gray flecked material is a perfect match to my aged cedar and the staples practically disappear, making a seamless-looking installation. Instant privacy at a great price, but only 4 stars until we see how if it performs throughout the season. UPDATE: Promoting to 5 stars as it's still hanging perfectly after several heavy rainstorms. I did a lot of research before ordering these panels. I read a review on someone who ironed the wrinkles out so we used a fabric steamer and it worked perfectly with no damage. We also used her advice and stapled them to the wood in some places and you can't see them. The material does have shimmery thread woven through them. We have a cedar deck and hung them on the inside so you can see the spindles from the outside. You can hardly tell they are there. We have tan siding and they blend right in with the house. Per other comments we ordered extra long brown zip ties. The ones with the panels would not have reached around the top of our deck railing. They have been up through several storms and have not changed in appearance in any way. I LOVE them. We have several houses behind us and it's nice to sit out in the morning and drink coffee in your pjs or lay on the deck with some privacy. Our cats can still see under them but feel safer on the deck as they feel more "hidden" ... show more

This privacy screen does exactly what I needed it to do. It's still hanging on my patio, and it's held up well over time. It gives me the privacy I wanted because people can't really see through it while I'm sitting outside. I'm happy with it and would buy it again.

I can't recommend this. It's intended for "privacy", but if there's sunlight on it it's 100% see through which defeats the entire purpose. 3 stars because it's well made and simple to install, but if you want something that actually blocks people from seeing, go with something else.
