The grippy stuff on the surface is pointless; most of it had peeled off by our second or third time playing with it at the pool. But the ball itself is great! It floats, is easy to grip and catch, has enough weight that you can throw accurately, but is still soft enough that you don’t have to worry about someone getting hurt if they get hit with it (and it doesn’t soak up a ton of water like Nerf balls). This is an excellent ball to toss back and forth in the water or on a sandy beach! It is lightweight but almost too light. This is not a full size football; it is smaller than a youth size football.
