There is not much to this dry bag. It is a thick orange plastic with a valve for inflating, a carry strap, and a clasp for closure. There is no extra pockets on the inside. Just a big empty space. So the bag is when you need to keep a number of items dry like your shoes, socks, change of cloths, camera, phone, wallet, ointment, bandages, snacks, drinks, etc. This is not for the casual camper or for something you take to a water park. There are better-suited dry bags for those kinds of outings. But if you are in a triathlon event or something similar, then this large dry bag may work well for you. Check with your event coordinator to ensure that the buoy function is allowable. If not, you can simply, not inflate the dry bag. Closing the bag requires one to roll down the opening at least 3 times. Then use the clasp to finish off the closing. The bag will keep objects dry so long as it does not go underwater too deep. Obviously, if the bag is inflated, it is not going much under the water. It would have been nice if it had a pocket or at least a different compartment inside. That helps to separate and organize things for loading and withdrawal. Overall, the dry bag does what it should. It has a generous capacity of 20 L (over 5 gallons or 1220 cubic inches). The material seems to match my other nautical materials. If so, it should last a long time. ... show more

Hello there, nice to meet you! ;o) I'm a great believer in safety when kayaking, especially since I'm by myself in a single-person kayak. Some of the places I go, be it the ocean, river or lakes, has other, larger boats that sometimes can't see you in the hubbub of having a great time, especially during the summer months. I'm sure you know the feeling! A combo of a neon-colored buoy and dry bag would be just the ticket in my situation, something I can grab quickly should my boat capsize-- that is quite visible to everyone else, should they need to come to my rescue or avoid me as I try to right things like turn over my boat. In addition, the buoy will help me as I try to stay afloat or swim to the shore, since I'm usually a ways 'out there.' I found this Sunlite 2 in 1 Buoy and Dry Bag 20L on Amazon, and it's exactly what I have been searching for, in addition to the 20L size. (My previous buoy is on the small side-- and I knew I needed to upgrade to something larger that's more visible.) Imagine my joy when this item arrived! It's just right in every way! No leaks, it's well made, and it's a bright neon orange to boot. Even better, the buoy came with the tether already attached-- something I've never experienced before, after struggling with my previous buoy's tether... I could never get it on right. You'll also find a patch kit, and a thank you card inviting you to register for a longer warranty. Oh! Almost forgot, the Dry Bag works great as well, the seals work and my stuff is completely dry! I do have a small wish, because I care: it would be wonderful to have a slightly longer tether, and perhaps a slightly larger belt to accommodate bigger folks, who need to be visible as well, not to say, a chance to rest on the buoy whilst swimming. ;o) Give these Sunlite 2 in 1 Buoy and Dry Bag a try... The media could not be loaded. I like that it has the inflator that you can easily inflate with your mouth on the floater itself it easily inflates with just a few breaths you don’t need a machine to blow it up. It is a little clunky to seal, but it does work well as a dry bag, once you do seal it correctly. Be careful what you do put inside because when it does inflate, it will press the item against the inside wall and you don’t want to put anything that can be sharp in there because it will slice it open when it’s compressed. It floats well its not overly large , so keep that in mind to make sure your using it proportionately to weight appropriately. I hope my review was helpful to you. ... show more

Snorkeling outside the defined swimming areas in any resort comes with a certain level of risk - crazy boaters! Several of my friends have some kind of similar buoy to trail along behind them so I wanted to join the club and also wanted to feel more "seen" when swimming on my own. This certainly answers the call - VERY easy to blow up since the valve is a screw type allowing you to blow through the opening and not fight a valve closure flap. Just get to the desired level of firmness and screw the valve closed! Easy to deflate as well. The top of bag is fully open but closed with three folds over to make it not leak air, which also makes it a handy bag to store personal items if you are out in a boat and want to keep things dry.... and if the bag goes overboard you can easily find it floating on the water and grab your things! I don't think I would trust it to be 100% waterproof but it would do the trick in most instances and since I canoe I imagine this bag will be going on many trips in the future! ... show more
