Just received the chair yesterday. It took roughly an hour to assemble and it definitely takes 2 people. At the end, there are some holes at the top that are slightly misaligned, it was too hard to get the screws into and so we had to leave out. It shouldn't matter to the overall durability or structure of the chair. Very nice looking on our deck and fairly comfortable. The one thing that would've made the chair better would be if there was a pillow behind your head. I'm about 6'3" and when I sit in the chair the back of my head touches the whicker part above the back pillow. With all of that said, we'll probably purchase another one. It seems to be a very attractive chair and a nice addition to our outdoor seating. Oh, one other thing, I would buy a cover for it if this chair is in a non-covered outdoor area. ... show more

Bought this in November when it was on sale, knowing we wouldn't be using it until Spring. I was a little nervous that by the time we used it, we could no longer return if there was a problem. I am thrilled that it has exceeded all my expectations. My son, who is handy but by no means professional, put it together in a reasonable amount of time. It instantly became everyone's favorite spot on the deck. So comfortable, so cozy, great spot to curl up and read. Cushions are deep and thick. Sturdy enough to hold up to the little ones swiveling it around and around. I'd consider getting a second but it's pretty expensive now so I'll wait to see if it goes on sale again. My husband would prefer if the cushion for the back would be higher. It would be nice if there was a canopy on the top for shade for a sunny day but overall a great purchase if you can get it on sale. ... show more

Let me start by saying, I don’t hate the egg chair. But I would probably not purchase this particular chair again i had the chance for a do over. When I was assembling the chair, I had a hard time bolting some parts together because of the VERY misaligned holes. The base still seemed sturdy so I wasn’t too concerned with it. I also noticed that some of the plastic wicker was already trying to come loose. Obviously neither one of those issues was enough for me to send it back. I’m pretty easy to please and I had been wanting an egg chair for sooooo long. I LOVE how roomy the chair is. And it is aesthetically pleasing, for sure. If you expect comfortable cushions, don’t buy this. It’ll the seat cushion is pretty dang firm. More importantly, my biggest complaint would have to be how scratchy and rough the cushion material is. If this egg chair was $200, I would have rated it 5 stars but for the price I paid, it’s not worth the money. ... show more

The egg chair was ordered on the 4th and delivered on the 23rd which wasn't bad but sat in nearby carrier facility for 7 days before delivery. Didn't have a problem with that, as 23rd was delivery date. When chair unboxed, there was a defective area. Part of it was unraveling. Fortunately, it was in an area close to the bottom and could be hidden by the cushion. If damage had been in a visible area, I would have been livid. To pay that much for an item and be defective, is not reasonable. I will tape it up, as it can be hidden. I'd seen good and bad reviews about assembling. Took me 3 ½ hrs and was a pain. Some sort of power tool would have been helpful. The screws are not easily accessible, awkward to get to but followed instructions to the tee. There was also some sort of furry bug in one of the plastic bags, that looked dead. Item coming from another country, I was a little leery. When time to discard bags, I noticed bug had “Come alive” and discarded it. Boy, oh boy. I really love the chair, it is a gorgeous thing. It is beautiful and really makes a statement. ... show more

    • Make sure your doorway is wide enough!!

Assembly is easy but takes forever because all the screws are allen wrench and due to the construction of the pieces, you can't use a power screwdriver, it's too big!! I purchased this for my private room balcony. It took me 2 days to assemble, total of about 3 hours. Then when I tried to fit it through the door it wouldn't go! I had to take one of the panels off again, squeeze it through the sliding glass door and re-assemble. That's my fault for not double checking the measurements on the finished product. All the frustration was worth it though. The next morning, I had my coffee in my very comfy chair while applying for jobs on Indeed! LOL Very roomy, the cushions are comfy and once together, it's very sturdy. It would help to have someone help you, some of the pieces are a little tight to squeeze together to make the holes match up. ... show more

This chair has been amazing. Our cats play on top of it, my kids try to destroy it but it has held up. I love it. You can easily curl up in it and read a book, take a nap, etc. I did not follow the cleaning instructions initially for the cushions but they’ve held up okay. I was hesitant ordering this chair without sitting in it first but I’m so glad I did! I wanted one for my own special mom hideaway in the living and it’s perfect! It can even fit my 2 and 5yr old with me. And the swivel makes it easy to get on to a kid no matter where they are. Wonderful purchase
