Its a really good concept but implemented very badly. I am a experienced IoT and python developer and worked in the manufacturing industry as a designer and I could say that I have fair amount of experience in assembling some reasonably complex things.Here are some of the issues I observed with this car- 1. The assembly instructions are not thorough. 2. The connecting wires are very short. One my connected actually broke because there was too much tension in the wire. 3.     • Excellent kit for those interested in learning python robot vehicle programming.
The vehicle itself is sturdy and well designed. Smart component layout with simple plug in connections. This kit provides a great deal of function pre-programmed. I like the fact of using a web browser to control the vehicle. That provides device flexibility for control since it is not tied to a particular application and operating environment. It would be helpful to provide a list of additional components needed to complete this kit. All are available on Amazon. Assembling the hardware components is easy compared to other kits I have experience with. The batteries are charged with an external charger - normal for many kits I have worked with.     • Not the product I expected
I had previously bought a raspberry pi based car before, while it took some effort assembling that product, it functioned as expected. I bought picar-4wd expecting an easier installation, however when I received the product first it had a part broken and missing, I returned the product and was promptly provided a replacement. This time nothing seemed broken, however when I started assembling, I found out that notches in the bottom plate was not cut out properly and the photo-interrupter module did not fit so instructed, I contacted the customer support and they responded after couple of days seeking more information, it has been some days and I have not heard back. Here is what I did not like: (1) Instructions incorrect or not elaborate enough (2) The parts do not fit in some cases In short I would not recommend it ... show more
