The PlayStation 5 comes with less than a terabyte of storage space. That's hardly enough for you to keep all your favorite games, let alone record video clips, take screenshots, and save other data. The good news is upgrading your PS5 storage has never been easier, thanks to the secondary M.2 SSD slot that lets you add a second SSD, similar to adding storage to your gaming PC. The WD_Black SN850 is a bit more expensive than other drive on Amazon, but still offers tremendous value, thanks to its a faster 7,300MB/s sequential read speed. The 6,300MB/s write speed isn't as fast, but you should be able to save games quickly like you can with most other options. If you’re concerned about heat dissipation, this drive comes with a heat-sink to maintain safe operating temperatures, even under a heavy load. And it’s guaranteed to fit snugly in the small quarters of the PS5’s M2 slot. Bought this to upgrade the storage on my PS5. Installation was easy and the system had no issues reading the drive and formatting it. You get the full capacity advertised on the drive for storage, no space is reserved for system usage or anything. The drive speed is phenomenal and well beyond the recommended specs set by Sony. Easily the best SSD on the market right now and is a must purchase for any PS5 user. ***Just a little heads up, I had trouble removing the screw inside the SSD expansion bay. The screw is very flimsy and threads easily and the issue appears wide spread online. So take extra care while installing your SSD and make sure to use the right tools*** ... show more
