This will make a lovely addition to my garden. It is quite large (yes, I know the dimensions are given in the description, but reading is not the same thing as seeing), and will keep my squash vines up off the ground and safe from hungry critters. You could make it smaller (to go over a gate, for example) by simply leaving out some pieces. Assembly was quick (about an hour at a leisurely pace). You will need a screwdriver and a pair of pliers to tighten the screws. My biggest concern about this arch is that it is lightweight (despite being all metal) and the bases are not heavy enough to anchor it in place. We get a lot of strong winds here, and they would take this arch down in a few minutes. I had planned to put my squash plants in five gallon grow bags at each end of the structure, but now I am concerned that they would not be heavy enough to keep it from blowing down. Maybe i will weight the bags with stones. My squash plants are just getting started: they are about four inches tall and not ready to go outside yet. So I have temporarily hung some pots of petunias from the center rungs and fence top planters of gerbera daisies on the sides. It makes a pretty display. (I have put terra cotta planter boxes on top of the bases to keep the arch from blowing down.) So whether you want to put this arch to a practical use (like growing squash or melons on it), or purely for decoration, I think you will enjoy it, especially if you don't get a lot of wind. ... show more
