When I ordered this drill press I was under the impression that it was going to be the same as my old drill press. I got 40 yrs out of my old one that was made overseas. When I started my search I typed in, 17 inch drill press. Somewhere that detail got changed. This is a 13 inch drill press. Now this drill press uses a piece of 3 inch exhaust pipe for the vertical shaft. Not very heavy duty at all. The belt guard is so flimsy that I am going to remove it and weld washers to it to stabilize it. The electric motor vibrates also. Over all, you get what you pay for! I was trying to avoid spending 1,000.00 for a drill press and now I wished that I would have. I know that it will get the job done but, spend more and get more for your hard earned money. ... show more

    • DO NOT PURCHASE!!!!!!!
Package came severely damaged, lower motor shroud was bent into the plastic fan mounted to the bottom of the motor. The shroud covering the belts was also bent down into the spindle pulley. It was also missing 2 of the 4 bolts that hold the base to the column ( which was also dented). I beat the sheet back into place and continued to erect the drill press, I had to completely disassemble the drill press head to try to determine the source of the rattling noise that would happen during the first 3/4 to an 1" of travel downward. I greased the spindle gears and put it back together and the noise went away. There was a great deal of wobble in the head to the point that I trashed $170 worth of project parts trying to drill a hole not more than 1.5" deep. As time goes on the vibration and wobble in this drill press gets worse. I would have returned it except for the fact that the packaging was not even suitable for return. ... show more

Packaging is insufficient Small amount of damage occurred and parts were scattered through the broken crumbled styrofoam. Installation assembly instructions are brief and insufficient Other than that it seems like a decent drill press for the money

The box was damaged. The styrofoam was all broken up into pieces damage to the machine to. Really not very happy as this was a gift.
