Lights are very bright and work well. However, the install box is thinner plastic than other Sunco lights and when you us a press in cable connector, they can easily pop out. Also, the wires inside the box are thinner than other Sunco lights and bend when you try to use push in wire connectors so you are forced to use wire nuts which takes a lot more time. Very disappointed in this product since I have used dozens of Sunco products and have never had these issues with cheap components. ... show more

I didn’t have much expectation for these lights since they were so small. But they are much brighter than I expected and the color adjustment is great.

Personally after installation I would leave more space in between lights as the output is very bright. The junction box and wiring is very cheap, but the LED lights seem to be very good. Price point is slightly higher than the big box store, but the offer a different warranty and say the lights will last 35,000 hours. But all LED's currently are saying this, to me it is not that big of a discount. I got these to replace some lights in a closet and upstairs in a loft and I had already cut the holes and pre wired the locations based off recommendations for standard lights. In the closet they are too close together and will almost blind you with the amount of light produced, so I am currently looking at a dimmer switch replacement for the closet. Upstairs it was very dark (no windows or external light coming in) and these lights really improved and brightened the area very quickly and I am very happy. I would definitely buy these again in the future for the amount you get for the price and so far with the amount of light they put out. ... show more

These are fantastic. I had been wanting to replace the old florescent lighting in my basement for years but wasn't sure what the options were. This six-pack of LED lights is perfect. Basically I was able to move the wire from the florescent fixture to the LED lights and still use the switch already in place. Since the drop ceiling gave me easy access it was a fairly simple matter to cut holes in the ceiling tiles, wire the boxes together, mount them to the joists, and plug in the lights. The space is MUCH brighter now... I may have underestimated how bright these are, but it is a low ceiling. I plan to replace the switch with a dimmer to control the light output, but overall I am super pleased with these. It would be a trickier install if I didn't have the access to the ceiling, but still doable. 3000k is right in the sweet spot of nice warm lighting, not the harsh clinical white of florescent or daylight bulbs. Could not be more pleased with how this turned out. Also, Wago wire connectors make this project MUCH easier than using the provided wire nuts, but both will work. ... show more

If you're not comfortable working with electrical, you should probably hire a professional. That said, the light was easy to install once everything else to support it (i.e. wiring) was where it needed to be. I tried to measure a light cone/spread for this, but I was pleasantly surprised when I found it extra difficult. Considering it's brightness and an 8 foot ceiling, you could probably get away with 1 every 10 feet or so and be alright, though most people prefer it a little closer. The box says it's a 90 deg spread, but the light scattering didn't have any edges to it. This is supposed to work with standard dimmers, but I didn't have one installed. If you look closely at the picture I provided, you can see their recommended dimmer switches. It is instant on, which is quite nice. The set I got was warm, at the 3000 range. This was actually quite fine since this matched almost exactly what I've grown used to as a standard. The color shading was not very noticeably orangish, so the temperature rating seems correct. For the design: it's quite standard looking. The frosted plastic lens is surrounded by a 1 inch wide white band. The unit is not thick at all, and I can easily see one of these slipping into any drywall location, even under a stud. You will need about 1.5 in clearance for the springs to extend to either side, but it seems quite workable. The junction box, plastic, was a little unusual for me when I didn't see a ground line. However this is rated for a damp location, and it seemed properly certified, so I am not worried at all. I did feel for heat build-up and it was non-existent. As I'm writing this, most recessed lights with an ultra thin design are going for about $7-10 each in large packs. This company does offer a 7 year warranty (2 extra years are offered for registering), and the lights are supposed to last 35,000 hours (about 32 years at 3 hours a day). At that usage time and warranty period, the difference between $8 each and $13 each with peace of mind...well, it's not an issue. ... show more
