These Summit Ultramax AS XL tires are great!! I spent hours researching all the tires on Amazon. I looked at the reviews, total number purchased, the tire specifications, the reliability, especially the safety of the tires, and lastly the price of each tire. My priority was safety and type. I had needed all season type tires with a good tread wear rating too. I had narrowed it down to four different brands of tires available on Amazon. The Summit Ultramax all season XL (the XL stands for being able to carry a heavier load on each tire. It does not have anything to do with size. It is a strength load description only.) So, here I am now. After driving on the these tires for awhile, I'm happy to report that they are doing great! I'm glad that I trusted all the info enough to purchase the tires. I had them professionally installed and balanced. No problems with them and they have a really good grip on the roads even when it's raining. They are a great purchase from Amazon and it's a bonus that the price is great too. These tires are a wonderful fit for my car! (My old tires were Continental brand but the price of those are too high now.) I recommend for people to enter your basic vehicle info onto the Amazon website first to help ensure that you find the correct size tires for your vehicle, in the type and style that you like. Brief update: I added 2 pics of one of the tires after driving through muddy, gravel roads. This was my first purchase of value based tires. The tires have been great! Very quiet, good traction, and easy to install and balance. Wasn’t sure about the brand until the shop I went to install them told me it’s their most popular selling brand. Would highly recommend.

I've never heard of the brand Summit, but the reviews were pretty good, only a few bad reviews. I had them installed at a local tire shop. It was a rainy day, the tires had sort of a strange look to the tread pattern, but once I started to drive on them, the differences with the OEM Hankook Kinergy GT H436 was quite evident. These Summit tires were quieter, smoother riding and had more traction in the rain and today it was not raining and the same was true. This is the second day of driving on these new tires and I am quite satisfied with them, great price and good performance overall. As far as mileage, I won't be able to tell for a while. But this appears to be a great tire at a really good price, definitely would recommend. It's been two months now and been raining a lot locally. This Summit tire is definitely superior in literally every way when compared to the factory Hankook that cost more than twice as much. I would definitely buy these Summit tires in the future. Smoother, quieter, and handles better in both wet and dry surfaces, can't ask for more. ... show more

These tires are well made they balanced easily they're surprisingly good for the price they're surprisingly good if they were expensive but they're not. At cruising speed they're not any noisier than the michelins that were stock on my Cadillac. I would say there is good and quiet as any Tire on the market. Bought these as my second choice for tires for a 99 Mercury grand marquis. I bought them in 225/60/16 size. They replaced a 5-year-old set of Arizonian silver edition III tires. These tires are better in every way than the Arizonian tires were even brand new. Quieter, smoother, better steering response. Great wet and dry traction so far and these tires are way better about not following the ruts in the road, the car has never driven so straight no matter my alignment settings. I mounted and balanced them myself and they balanced well using a bubble balancer and didn't take much weight at all. Smooth as can be up to 80 MPH, haven't tested them faster than that. The tires also have a nice-looking sidewall and tread pattern. I think I will be buying another set for my minivan when the time cones. ... show more
