The Numa Compact 2x brings to the extreme the power of the Compact family. Packed in the same compact size cabinet there are now 3 sound engines: a tone wheel organ model derived from Numa Organ, the Sledge sound synthesis and 1GB of samples memory. The new USB port allows to transmit and receive digital audio. Save more space using the Numa Compact 2x speakers to amplify the sounds of your computer or tablet. The Numa Compact 2x is a big step forward in terms of sound quality, digital post processing effects and full MIDI controller features. Thanks to the built-in speakers and the internal digital amplifier, the Numa Compact 2x is suitable and flexible in any musical environment. A true tone wheel organ model derived from the acclaimed Numa Organ is implemented in the sound engine. The user interface gains 9 programmable sliders which can be used as Drawbars to control the organ sounds and as linear controls to send Midi CC as well. The Sledge engine is optimized to fit in the Numa Compact 2x, where it’s possible to create any synthetic sound starting from a basic waves library. Using the 9 sliders section it is possible to control 9 synthesis parameters. Numa Compact 2x grows with your demands. You can either use it with the high quality built-in speakers in a training session, practice at home with your headphones and plug it to the PA system when playing with your musician friends or performing live on stage. The USB port now allows to send and receive audio with digital quality. Simply send and record the sound of the NC2x on the computer or use the NC2x as an audio board, amplifying the digital audio coming from the computer or tablet thru the built-in speakers, in endless combinations.

  • It's really a sleeper hit
Honestly, I didn't know what I was getting into when I bought this. Now, I know I purchased a starter nord/cp. This has really opened up my playing ability, the FATAR keys are really great.. Honestly, so great. Try it out, and I swear you won't regret it.

  • Great price, shipped fine and sounds good - will update
Just getting started with this keyboard. So far, the keybed feels good to me, not heavily weighted like many of my other boards. Bought primarily to do one-off gigs where I don't need a huge sound palette or the weight of a heavier board (like my DS88). Waiting on the SL case (back ordered) so not going to gig it out until that arrives. It is very narrow and I'm concerned about how it will react to being played on a typical X stand. IOW, there's much less surface area so I'm not sure if that will create problems in the long-run. I'd almost consider putting a sheet of plywood, etc on my stand just to give more support. We'll see... The aftertouch is a nice feature - however, you can't (afaik) simply turn it off globally - you must edit the sound and save it with the aftertouch off. The built-in speakers are cool but won't turn off (afaik) unless you plug in to the headphone output. More research needed... I really like the sounds that come pre-loaded. They're useful and well constructed. TLDR Great, lightweight, inexpensive 88 board for gigging/studio but there are a couple of features that are a bit counter-intuitive and require some manual digging. Will update after it gets a few miles on it ;-) 4/8/19 ... show more

  • Light but gigable USB Audio Interface means Less cables
First of all - I did not get from amazon, but I think a review could help other people. I also own the Numa Organ 2 and the SL88 Grand MIDi controller. This unit has replaced both in most situations.16 lbs vs 75 lbs for both the Numa2Organ and the SL Organ - The sound engine is based on the Numa Organ 2 -- yes not fully featured but for 90% of what I do the presets are more than adequate and I have drawbar controls to change the sound on the fly. With 88 keys-I do not need a lower manual. The rotary control is very limited but again useable. I have a rotary emulator in pedal form. Piano - The built-in and supplemental sounds are more than enough for most gigs. I am not playing classical so action is good enough Get the add on Steinway-D and Yamaha CFX Sounds EP - Very good sounds maybe too clean but the over drive control helps. They also have the Mark II add on. Bass - Useable as far as fingered bass goes. I like the upright more as it sound realistic Synth - The drawbars act as filter, resonance and other analog controls are. I usually bring another synth like a MODAL or Arturia but what they have packed in is plenty Keyboard action --it is not weighted or graded but for synth , EP and organ it's perfect and piano playing is not really that bad. I do not play worse on this than the SL8 Grand or a stage piano Integration with a PC or iPad in my case is a blessing. I do not need to bring a sound interface. I have a piano, synth and organ libraries and samples on my iPad and the Numa Compact 2x acts as my sound interface. So I really just need 2 1/4 inch cables from the Numa to the FOH or in my case a couple of QSC 10's. I am really glad they did not add pads and other sliders. For DAW VST control - I have mapped the drawbars or just use a Korg nano control. which sits on top of it It's light so I have attached velcros so it is stable on a stand and does not slide around specially if I get excited. So easy to transport. My bag is about 55 inches and subway/bus friendly. Somebody said and I am quoting them "works like a Nord, 88 piano keys, as light as a small, 5-octave keyboard, as nimble as a Yamaha Piaggero to play the keys and priced like a Casio CGP-700! " The price has increased. but to me this is still a really great price. It is not a toy and professional gig tool. ... show more

  • CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP BUILD QUALITY
I was SUPER excited to get this. When I bought it, it was on back-order. It took a couple of months to arrive. I wanted something light and portable for traveling, light gigs, and for times that I didn’t want to take the Nord out. Of particular attraction were the drawbars. I play mostly jazz/rock/pop, and drawbars are definitely a bonus. My excitement ended when I opened the box and hooked it up. Right off the bat the jack panel felt loose and flimsy- so much so that I sort of said a little prayer as I pushed them in. They flexed so much that I thought it might pop into the unit. I’m not sure if it’s just glued in place or if there are tiny screws holding it in, but a definite weak spot. The OLED display was noticeably crooked behind the thin plastic membrane, and would flicker every now and then. So on with the power. When I read that it had good semi-weighted action, I was hoping for something along the lines of the Korg M line (M3, M50). NO. The action is like an old 80’s Casio child’s keyboard. I simply do not know why people rave about this action. The piano sound was decent, but that springy and spongy action made it VERY difficult to play. Several of the keys clacked when I dug in, like there was felt missing under them or something. Plastic on plastic. Dialed up the organ, and was reasonably pleased with it, and REALLY liked the feeling of the drawbar faders, but I noticed that on a couple of them, the display would glitch… even after I removed my finger from the physical drawbar. It would show it going in and out very rapidly. I would jiggle it to make it stop, and most of the time it would, but sometimes it just kept doing it. And it wasn’t like an artifact effecting just the display, you could *hear* the drawbar moving. So, I pulled out just the one drawbar, and it really was spazzing. The organ sound was decent enough (certainly usable), but the Leslie was not good. At all. DP’s were decent enough, but many of the other sounds were just sad. I really wanted to like this board. It’s super lightweight and ticks so many boxes. But the quality is terrible. Outright. And 700 is still a chunk. But the worst thing was the action. I still don’t get why people rave about it. ... show more
