  • Inspirational
My sister recommended this book as i was going through some personal trama in my life. I found Khloe's words to be honest and at the same time very inspirational. The book helped me work towards deflecting my anger and subsequent sorrow into a stronger image of myself. While i am still early in the process of my goals. i can feel the release of bad energy with every milestone i complete. ... show more

  • One Day At A Time
Say what you what to say, but I do Keep up with The Kardashians. I always have admired Khloe for her "tell it like it is" attitude w/ a heart of gold. Plus, I'm a person that always love to root for the "underdog." According to the media, Khloe was the ugly fat Kardashian sister if/when they compared her to her other sisters. Now the same media that made her the laughing-stock is the same media that wants her to grace their fitness magazines. Khloe Kardashian is the perfect example of a person with a "Revenge" body. Before you say or think - If I had the Kardashian's money I would be able to lose weight in a matter of weeks. Money or no money - it takes a healthy mindset to embark on a weight loss journey. It's not easy but imagine being in the spotlight where someone is watching your every move and every pound you gain or lose. Strong Looks Better Naked isn't a strict/rigid weight loss manual. Yes! a lot of the weight loss information she shared wasn't new to me, but sometimes the message gets lost with the messenger. That's why there are millions of weight loss themed books on the market. Not every book will resonate with you but when you find one that does - you take as many gems (tips) as you can and apply them to your life. I will admit this book resonated with me. Khloe Kardashian is very candid about her weight las journey. FYI: This is not a tell-all memoir so don't open the pages expecting to find out any deep dark Kardashian secret. One of the main reasons I gave the book 3.5 stars was the fact it lacked structure. There were times she seemed to jump all over the place - recycling some of the same information. There were a few passages I felt they could have left out of the book - so it came across as fillers to me. My advice for anyone that wants to read this book - take what applies to you and put it to good use. Overall, this wasn't a bad read at all. It did keep my attention long enough to take me out of my dreaded reading slump. ... show more

  • Good for weight loss or workout motivation...not very helpful with other matters
I think she should've stuck to motivation for health & body transformation. All the other advice or insights she has about mindful thinking should've been left up to someone else. There's no way possible to her to be able to relate to the masses who don't have the luxury of excessive money to help them out. For her it's simple....you break your phone & instead of having an angry fit about it, you simply just to to the Apple store....well yes, easy for her to say. For the rest of us, a new phone is more than a car payment or half a mortgage payment. Those of us who have lost a loved one don't have someone hand us a fun clothing store that we love to go to every day that gives us motivation through our grief. If you were handed a mop & a bucket & told to clean the bathrooms of a store every day would you have felt the same motivation to get up & go to work every day?? I know you meant well with this book, but need to realize your world (& therefore your outlook on everything) is different & all this book did was cause people to feel wrong or guilty about their own setbacks & feeling negative or stuck. When my son passed away 3 yrs. ago, I didn't have paid assistants to help me with daily tasks to make my life easier while I grieved, I didn't know how the mortgage would be paid because my husband divorced me after 20 yrs. at the same time my son passed away. I know that money doesn't & can't buy happiness....but I DO know that it makes the hard times alot easier & the help that is needed more readily available. So instead of judging the "Debby Downers" in your life & not want to be friends with them because they have negative energy....maybe try a walk in their shoes...not your shoes.. & then learn from it. I'm not trying to sound mean or hateful...I'm being truthful. I bought this book because you seem to be the most introspective & down to earth one on the show, but I'm now realizing the Kourtney is actually the one starting to get it right. She's learning what's truly important & you're all pushing against her new journey because of how it will affect you or the show. Everyone speaks of the "Kardashian Curse" for the men in the family but what I really think it is...is karma balance. Noone can have it all....Kourtney is putting family, love & happiness before money & I guarantee she'll be the first one to now find real love & fulfilling relationship with someone. She's learning about balance & she's learning that the opposite of "MORE" doesn't mean "Wanting LESS"....the opposite of needing & wanting more is when you realize what is ENOUGH. ... show more
