  • Beautiful and soft!
The color is true to the picture, surely. So lovely for a dress, skirt, infinity scarf, dress shirt, or whatever else you dream up to use it for! Nice quality (versus being too thin) and sheen. It absolutely stretches and drapes well. It’s a challenge to pin, especially if not wholly tabled, to split up yards of it into more manageable sizes for me to use. I had to fold and pin it to cut it with my rotary cutter, but the stretch of it of course demands that you pin it rather well before cutting it in this way. I don’t typically make clothes, nor do I usually use stretchy fabrics, but this is beautiful and I hope to do it justice as a skirt, by probably attaching it ruffled to something much less shifty to go under the foot of my machine with a ball point needle, size 75/11. ... show more

  • Great fabric, but do your homework on choosing a seller!
The velvet is exactly what I was looking for, nearly a perfect match for a similarly-colored stretch velvet I'd bought months earlier from another fabric website. BUT! Be aware of this possibility before ordering: the actual color you receive may differ depending on which seller you choose (you'll note that you have the option of going through different seller for this "wine" stretch velvet material). I ordered this "same" fabric through two different sellers (long story) and the colors were noticeably different. We're not talking about subtle differences in dye lots, either. The one I got through Fabric Exchange was exactly what I was looking for, and came closest to the illustration--that is, a hue somewhere between red and wine/cranberry. When I ordered the same fabric through Fabric Bravo, the material I received was quite darker and skewed closer to purple than red. Why there should be such a clear and dramatic difference between supposedly the same fabric is anyone's guess, but it's something to be aware of when deciding which seller to go through. FYI: the photo I've included has the Fabric Bravo on the left, and the Fabric Exchange on the right. UPDATE: I ordered more through Fabric Exchange, and unfortunately now they, too, are sending out the purple-ish fabric instead of the one that's closer to red. So I guess you're taking a risk no matter who you go with. ... show more

  • Fabulous color!
It's a "perfect shade" of stretch velvet in a burgundy wine color. I found a tunic I liked online for about $89. I bought this fabric instead and made the tunic for under $10. I can't tell you how many compliments I received on it. Great quality fabric and super fast shipping.

  • worked great for my project
I purchased this a liner for a knife case for my knife collection. The fabric was exactly as I hoped. I used it to line the drawers of my new knife case and it looks awesome!

  • not as red as I expected
not as red as I expected, a bit more on the magenta side of red, but good in all other aspects--soft, etc

  • Very bright, kind of cheap looking
Very bright wine color. Look, I know this type of fabric is not luxe, but sometimes cheap things can look luxe (if you've ever seen Project Runway you will see one designer made an amazing looking pair of pants made out of trash bags!) My first impression was "cheap looking" but I will still use it for something as wasting fabric and throwing fabric away is one of the worst things you can do to the environment. I thought the seller was great and super fast shipping ... show more

  • Color isn’t right
The color isn’t matching with the listing , its not wine or burgundy. Its more like purple and I don’t have anything purple in my living room . I didnt have time to look until now. Pass the return window.
