Description

The Stream light EMS ProTac was designed by a medical services professional to provide the optimal non glare light for pupil and wound examination. Powers on at low beam: 3.6 lumens/runs 36 hours. ideal for pupil exams. Faint peripheral illumination surrounding the focused beam slightly illuminates the opposite pupil without directly causing it to contract, facilitating observation of consensual contraction in dim light. Tail switch offers three modes of increasing intensity light: low, medium, and high. Two taps of the tail switch accesses medium mode, which delivers 10 lumens/runs for 19 hours. Three taps of the tail switch accesses high mode, which delivers 50 lumens/runs 1.5 hours (alkaline). runs 3.4 hours using AA lithium battery. LED Solid State power regulation provides maximum light output throughout battery life. One h and ed operation of tail cap switch makes this flashlight easy to use with gloved h and s. Removable pocket clip. Includes nylon holster and one AA battery. Other features include: tempered glass lens for maximum beam clarity, anti roll face cap, durable anodized aluminum construction, shock proof 50,000 hour life C4 LED, and multi function push button tailswitch. • best pocket flashlight!
If you need a light for you cargo pocket, EMT kit, go-bag, lanyard, etc...then friend this is the light for you! I got one, wasn't a fan of the cost given it was just a simple small flashlight, but boy was a pleased how well it worked! Enough so i've gotten 2 more since for dropping into my go-bag for deployments. And where I go there are always mountains of AA batteries, so this light is perfect for me, because i can always get my hands on AA with no issue, and with little/no cost. I love the 3 "setting" of brightness, which are just a matter of bumping the button once, twice, or three times for low, med, high. But what i love is that 90% of the time i never need more than the low lumen setting to see in the dark, and keeping it mostly on low, I've been able to go months with heavy use on a single battery. But there have been times i needed the full lumen that this lil puppy packs and even then still gotten all the use I needed, i just changed the batteries (better safe than sorry) since they were abundant and free, but I've never had it die on me. The lil pouch is nice, esp if you need to wear it on your EMT belt, i chose to dump it and use the clip and keep in in my cargo pocket like a knife. On water rescue missions i throw it on a lanyard on my PFD as a backup for spotting the shoreline. bottom line: its pricey but i love it! ... show more

  • My new favorite light
I got this mostly for dog walks at night. Typical streamlights will blind me or my dog if accidently flashed. I do wish this had a strobe function but as it is designed for EMS that could cause seizures so its understandable it comes without that. It does have two settings. Low and super low. Superlow still will throw enough to reflect off street signs two blocks away. I bought a second to go in my emergency pack. ... show more

  • Great little light
This is a great little light. It runs on one AA battery which can be found just about anywhere. It has three brightness levels; the brightest is surprisingly bright for such a small light. However, in my opinion as an EMT, even the dimmest setting is too bright to use this as a penlight for checking pupil reactivity, despite the manufacturer's claim that this is "ideal for pupil exams" (quoted from Amazon). And sadly, that was main thing I was looking for. I wanted a compact, durable, replaceable-battery penlight for pupil exams. I have yet to find one that isn't too bright. Nevertheless, this is a great compact flashlight, and is now my go-to for general purpose illumination. I also carry a 500-lumen Surefire Fury, which is great when you need a LOT of light, but it's often way too much for just checking something out. So this is now the flashlight I use the most. ... show more

  • great small light
i like this light- it starts on the lowest setting, which is usually just what I need to see objects. This preserves battery life, and I like that. IT fits in my pocket, the clip has not let it slip out and get lost. It works, and seems study. I prefer the AA size, though not as powerful as a C123, if the battery dies, I can easily find another in any store or even in our stations battery supply. A very good light, and if you are not looking for a super powerful, this is the one. ... show more

  • Great for the intended purpose
This light is not the brightest available but it is great for the intended use. It has 5 settings. For work up close you can't use a super bright light because it will blind you.

  • MY FAVORITE
This light is great, however I purchased this one used and the inspection was terrible. I could not believe why it would be resold. I will not buy used again. Now, on a positive note, amazon paid shipping and gave a credit to my account. I have ordered this light new and love it. I would recommend this light to anyone. Bright, easy to carry, cheap to operate and functions great. ... show more

  • Weird “flash” when turning on
I tried three different examples of this light. While I like its design, the size, and the fact that it starts at a very low illumination level, all three had the same flaw. When turning them on, they would always show a brief “flash” of light. Two were returned to Amazon. One was returned to Streamlight for their inspection. So, either this is a ‘feature’ of the power regulation circuit of this light, or I got three bad ones in a row. The two from Amazon were only 7 apart in serial number. But the one from Streamlight was made in a different year. Perhaps I will try this again if there is a design change. Pity, because I have had nothing but good luck with other Streamlight models. ... show more

  • poor misunderstood EMS light
Poor misunderstood EMS light. Beam has rings...for a reason. Lights pupil A while lighting eye ball B without pupil reaction. Good tint for checking wounds etc etc. The body is made for self defense at either end if need be. It's a great flashlight for a certain niche, but will also provide plenty of light for the rest of us. ... show more
