It took me 3 days to put this together. Granted, the power went out during a storm on the first night I started on it so I had to stop… and then I only worked on it for a couple hours the second day before I had to stop because my daughter was having friends over for her birthday… but, if I was to add up the hours… I’d say it took me maybe 5-6 hours all together doing it by myself, but with the help of a couple beers too of course. Putting the frame together was pure torture. I say this as a human being who isn’t in the greatest of shape and has rarely ever had to put furniture together before. Even though I wanted to die as I put all the support pieces together, I have to admit it really is a simple process. Insert screw with washer, tighten with allen wrench. Simple. Awful. But straightforward. I was one screw short for the back panel, but I could have very possibly just dropped it and was unable to locate it. I needed a hammer for the push pins. The bottom board for the drawers were numbered 14 instead of 15, as the instructions said. There was another part also numbered 14 so I had two different parts numbered as 14. The instructions showed the assembly of the frame backwards/inverted so it took me a while to get started until I figured that out. None of those things were necessarily an issue. Just wanted to point it out. As you can see, I purchased different drawer knobs… they did not come with the chest of drawers. The black wooden ones pictured in the stock photo are the ones that came with it. Overall, I love it. There were soooooo many screws and additional brackets. This thing may be made out of soft, cheap wood but it’s built pretty solid. It’s going to last for many, many years. With that said though, it does dent, knick, and scratch pretty easily. Regular use shouldn’t cause very noticeable cosmetic issues however. You just can’t be rough around it. It came packaged very well. It was packaged with lots of styrofoam and wrapped in protective film, packaged tightly inside of a box, then placed in another box for extra protection through shipping. It was VERY VERY heavy though. My 14 year old and I couldn’t even get it inside the house after it was delivered. I had to call in some muscles to get it inside and take it upstairs where I assembled it. The actual chest of drawers itself is quite heavy, but much more manageable for moving than it was when it was in the box. I’m very pleased with this purchase. I’m glad I chose this one, even though it’s a baby brand… this was for my 14 year old daughter. And she’s very happy with it too. In fact, she picked this one out of 5 I had shown her. ... show more

This dresser is simply amazing. I'm 6 months pregnant with twins and the assembly was easy enough I could manage it on my own. It is very time consuming, but simple. The drawers took about 15 minutes each but that's because of all the extra bracing the manufacturer thought to put into the design! The drawers are also nicely deeper than any I've seen on modern dressers, even the ones in my local furniture store going for three times this price. I also love that they thought about children when making this dresser and the drawers have a stop on them so they don't fall out. The packaging was really well done so nothing was damaged in transit. Parts are press board and other parts seem to be solid wood or very well laminated solid wood. The finish has some very slight variations in color that make it at least appear very real wood. I like the knobs that came with it but it would also be very easy to change the look of this piece by changing them out. I'm very happy with this purchase! It's a nice solid heavy piece without being extremely heavy. The construction is very sturdy! (They even include screws for the backboard instead of tiny nails that never stay put). The instructions were very easy to follow and all I had to provide was a philips screwdriver (though I used a power drill to put in the screws on the backing to save time). I'd highly recommend this dresser to anyone. The look, the size, the construction, the ease of assembly, and the gosh darn amazing price make this piece a true bargain! Solid a quick assembly. Very sturdy

**NOT A PAID REVIEW** black chest of drawers. It got delivered at 11. Started assembly with my 2 kids at 11:15. Was done by 12:30. other reviews said it wobbles and not sturdy, I went into assembly assuming as much. It is very solid and looks great. Drawers slide nice and smooth. It is siting on a thick 54oz carpet and has zero shake to it. I did not even use the anti tip brackets either. Instructions are easy to follow. ... show more

Purchased for our 5 yrs old son's bedroom. First impression: Great gray color and smooth paint finish. A couple of boards had chips/dings on the the finish but not enough to warrant a replacement. Wood boards are sturdy, making for a good strong finished product. The dresser sits a bit lower than expected so we will be getting an air vent deflector (unfortunately, best place for dresser, in his room, is over air vent). Construction: took about 1.5 hours for husband and I to put together. He did frame, I did drawers. Box was heavy to move at 120lbs. Get some help moving the box. Construction woes: For the most part, pilot holes were drilled appropriately. There were a few locations on frame that were missed and required us to drill our own holes. Not to big of a deal...unless you're not into the extra steps. For drawer assembly, it was relatively easy though some pilot holes again were not made or alignment of predrilled holes were off. I appreciate the support bar on underside of drawers (oddly, previous dresser didnt have that) though the support bars are made of fairly cheap, almost balsa wood feeling, material. I can see where these support bars can snap easily. The drawer knob holes are pre drilled and not all uniform depths. If using the stock pulls, you shouldnt have an issue. We used custom image made knobs (typical knob sizing, machine screws at 1" length w 8/32 thread size...same as what is included with this dresser's stock knobs). If using your own knobs, have 1", 1/2", and 3/4" machine screws at the ready (included knobs have a deeper bored hole than typical replacement knobs so you can use the included 1" machine bolts). Function: drawers roll smoothly and stop appropriately and feel as if they can go through plenty of use and store plenty of clothing. Great height for our 5 yr old (hes a bit taller than the average kid his age). The top will hold plenty of toys, knick knacks, lamps, etc. The top of dresser may be able to handle wear and tear easily (doesnt feel like to soft of a wood)...will update as time goes on. Final thoughts: As of right now, I would buy this product again. For any reason, should I change my mind, I will update review...though I dont foresee any issues. Overall, it has a fair price point, it is sturdy, functional, great for use in a kids room, stylish, and makes my kid happy. Give it a whirl. ... show more

This might actually be my first product review and I've been a prime member for as long as I can remember it being available(Just about). The reason I'm writing this review is because I was pretty scared to be honest when I started putting this thing together. I was afraid that something would be wrong and I'd have to pack it up and ship it back. I'm lazy as heck so that sounds worse than it is. In fact, I'm so bad with returning things, It would probably just sit broken in my garage. With that said, when it comes to prefab type work, there is always going to be some variation. I saw some very slight variation in the location of the pilot hole was on some of these boards. They were ever so slightly off that it might make the board off flush by a millimeter. You could not complain because if you make sure its lined up when it comes to tightening it down, it is flush at that point. The scare came when I was putting the second side on, the middle braces, at least on one side, looked to be too long. I measured them roughly, a slight difference but I just tightened them down and it went together to my relief. I'm not sure if there was a bit of warping on one side or the other which made this seem worse than it was, but once its tightened down it wasn't an issue. The other only real persistent issue I can see, is that the braces that go on the bottom of each drawer, they can pop out easily. The front and back walls of the drawer aren't fastened in a way that the middle section is immune to flexing. If it does flex, then the slat can fall out the bottom. I'd recommend some wood glue on them once you've put them together. Because of the way they are setup, you could do this after the fact by just pulling the drawer back out. The bag the screws come in is a joke, I think it was punctured and then taped closed by someone. A few of the screws were not in the bag but inside of the box part the bag is wrapped in. There was also a 5-6 inch scuff on the inside of one of the 'sides' which had been painted over. I'm not sure exactly what kind of damage it was, but it was not in a visible spot once it was put together, but I definitely had the feeling that someone may have had this unit before me, or there was a bit of damage to it at the factory somewhere. The drawers themselves open and close with no issues, the gaps won't line up perfectly but they don't hit anything. For the price you pay, and the sturdiness of the unit(Its pretty heave and you can really crank down the screws on the drawers) I don't think there is a better dresser to buy on Amazon. I'm very glad I bought this one for my 8 year old, even though he will need a stepping stool to see into the top drawers. Lastly, this is not hard to put together. If you were the kid in high school who couldn't dribble the basketball or pat your head and rub your tummy at the same time, then sure, you would think its difficult. But for myself it was very, very straight forward by just looking at the instructions. It does take a couple hours with a hand screw driver however, but I never trust those very easy to build cheapo furniture anyway. ... show more

We bought this for a guest room and it works great. It's quite sturdy and looks very good in the room. It took a while to put together but the directions were clear. It arrived in great shape and a day early!

I was skeptical, but it truly is an award winner.
I was iffy about ordering furniture online, so I went to my local Big Box store of "Lots" to look at dressers, not needing anything fancy either. I saw throw away type junk for over 500.00, that the idiot store people couldn't even put together correctly. I felt violated just looking at the junk and the price tag. I saw this Stork Craft 5 drawer dresser for less than half the price and purchased it based on the reviews and rewards. So very glad I did! It was packed very well, well thought out and some parts were even shrink wrapped. There was only a couple of minor scratches in the wood and one could tell it was stained. For the price it wasn't a complaint. Only one spot with a rough splinter but not enough to complain or ding a star for quality. It's not a solid piece of oak furniture, so you have to keep that in mind. I have put lots of furniture together like this over the decades, and I can see why this won awards. It was well thought out and done with more precision than any I have put together before. "Folks," if you are having a difficult time assembling it, thinking it's too hard, or too much work, set it down, and call a friend who has some basic knowledge of this. Ladies, if you ask a man friend to help you put something together, he will show up with bells on. It's not a complicated build. Lots of pieces, but that is the ingenuity of it's design. It was actually a fun project. Take your bleedin time, there is no phone app that will put it together for you. Everything went together well, fit properly and lined up smoothly. I kept waiting to encounter a problem or a, "Aha- Gotcha" moment, but It there was no glitches or problems. When the drawers were all put together (which I thought were going to be a problem too), I thought for sure, there would be an issue with the drawers going in, sliding, not fitting, or uneven. Nope! They all went in smoothly and too easy. My first thought when the last drawer went in, and it opened and closed - lining up perfectly, I thought "No Way!" If I ever needed another dresser like this, I would order another one. The only thing that would make it more perfect are drawer dividers, but that's just me, liking things like that. If you don't own a screwdriver, have a wee bit of patience or the time, and you never assembled anything that basic, don't complain if you booger it up. Take your time, and look at and read the directions for each step. There is no phone app or Alexia to do it for you. It's a well worth project without having to re-adjust or force or modify anything. Eh...Not Really Worth It
This isn't very good quality whatsoever and I've meant to write a review long before now. This wasn't too difficult to put together, however, one of the drawers never fit properly so it got stuck shut when I first put it together and never opened again (I could probably have pulled and pulled but I was afraid it would pull the whole thing apart, which it probably would have). So from the start I had a four-drawer dresser instead of five. Over the year 1/2 that I've had this, the drawers have all fallen apart repeatedly - the wooden support bar underneath each drawer doesn't quite fit the depth on any of them and they don't stay together, so they all fall apart and the bottoms fall out of each drawer, meaning they get stuck on the clothes in the drawers underneath and make a mess. About once a month I have to empty the drawers, put them all back together again and put the clothes back in. What a pain. Finally the bottom of the bottom drawer cracked and fell apart so now I have a three-drawer dresser instead of five. The upside is that the dresser looks very nice just sitting here (you can't tell that two of the drawers aren't functioning when you just see it sitting in my son's room) but the bottoms of each of the drawers are the next step up from cardboard and the dowels that are supposed to support them do not fit and do not hold the bottoms in the drawers. Unfortunately I have a piece of junk that I can't use now and will need to be thrown away...but like I said, it looks ok just sitting here if I didn't need to use it. ... show more
