These are definitely higher quality than what you'll find at a dollar store. I'm very happy to see that they're made in the US. We need more jobs and products in the US. I think these are priced a bit on the high side but again, made in the US--which means the workers have to be compensated at minimum wage. We can't guarantee that's happening with most products we purchase these days. It's just the state of things. That in mind, if we want US workers to have jobs like these, we do have to expect to pay a few dollars more for something made well. Other reviewers cover the quality well. I haven't met a craft yet that I didn't like! And I do like to keep all of my materials organized so that when I'm ready to start a project I can easily grab the supplies. These bins are awesome! They are deep enough to hold a lot of supplies - e.g., many tubes of paint, hot glue supplies, stamping materials, etc. Since they don't have lids, you can stand your taller supplies upright and not worry about height and the footprint of the bin is sleek enough that it's not taking up a lot of room on your craft cart/shelves. The handles are nice to grab and take to your work surface and the bins themselves are very sturdy - they're not floppy like 'cheapy' bins. If these storage bins will fit in your space/hold what you need, I would suggest getting them! They are super sturdy for the size. The plastic is thick and I don't see these breaking for a long time. Another thing I like is that the height is uniform around the whole bin. I'm not sure why, but bins with dips or cut outs (beyond the handle) just feel less useful to me. I occasionally need a biggish container for a liquid purpose, but the sink or a bucket is too big. An empty plastic storage bin is so great for soaking a small piece of laundry! ... show more

These are made of thick and rigid plastic and they look quite nice. I really like the rounded style of the corners and the fact that they have sides that are straight up-and-down to maximize usefulness on shelves. We use these for my kids' art supplies and they're perfect.
