I’ve used many of these types of products…this one beats them all hands down. To be honest, I’m lazy, so I use the four pack they come in to start a fire, instead of breaking them of individuals. Have NEVER had an issue starting a fire, even with moderately wet wood.

We bought these a year ago for a big family caming trip to Rocky Mountians. Didn't want to have to fight making a fire, and kindling and what not. So We tried them, and another product. The other product worked ok. But not once have I ever failed to get a fire with Stokes. These thing are amazing. We continue to buy and use them because they are simple, clean, and effective.

We bbq alot and have used many brands, we can honestly tell you these are by far the best! Easy to light, long burn time and no nasty smell! Definitely buy these!

I have had a wood stove in my house for 45 years. I have tried numerous fire starters, but I quit looking after my first winter with Stokes. I read about the company and their employees. I liked their message and decided to buy a box. That was about 8 years ago, and now it is the only product I use. I don't have to split starter wood any longer. I just layer the wood in the stove and one Stokes" pod burns about 10-15 minutes and has never failed to start a fire. Even when I don't have a good draft, Stokes works.

I bought these to go camping. I really suck at starting fires. I went camping with 20 people, some very experienced campers. They were surprised that one little one started a fire from cold, every time. No kindling or anything. Just put it on one log and watched it start a fire. IMPRESSED. They are very small and don't take up much room.
