Over several years I did have a zipper fail, which led me to purchase the new bag. Fairly sure that the zipper failed due to a lot of rough handling and not an issue with manufacturing. This is a very nice bag with plenty of room. It is very stiff but I think that will work itself out over time with more use. My only real complaint is the side pockets can be very hard to open sometimes because of the way the flap covers the zipper. Its a stiff material so moving it out the way is a little difficult. This bag came so close to being exactly what I was looking for, with lots of pockets to hold many different items. The problem is that the pocket are extremely tight, with very little height to accommodate the things you'd put in them. And the more you use, the more the pressure makes the other pockets almost impossible to utilize. It's still a great bag if you're the sort of person that wants a place for everything, but you might find you need stuff that considerably smaller and thinner than you'd expect at first glance if you want them to fit in the pockets. ... show more
