This product ended up working great for my scenario, and I actually might have gotten away with using my monitors daisy chained through the 1 port model of this device. My desktop video card only had one display port adaptor anyway, so plugging one of my monitors into the other and then that one into this KVM switch I have both monitors working with the desktop and my laptop. I have done a lot of research to find the correct KVM switch for my home desktop and my work laptop. Both computers support dual display ports. At first I couldn't figure out why it wasn't working when I connected the DP ports up. Turns out that you also have to run the USB cables as well. Once this was done, everything works great in regards to the KVM. Only issue that I do have is that despite my Surface Pro 5 with the docking station changing the "Close The Lid" to do nothing, it stops sending any video at all so I have a 3rd monitor that I don't want to use. When using a laptop, whose monitor is obviously not connected to the KVM, and then switching via the KVM all the windows open on the laptop on both of my KVM connected monitors are moved to the laptop screen. I would think the EDID feature would cover this scenario but it does work properly switching computers when the laptop lid is closed, which is my primary use case. I used this to hookup my dell work laptop (via thunderbolt dock station - if anyone is worried it won't work, it will!) and my gaming PC. I have one tiny desk in my little home office and two monitors. I go to uni and do freelance art as well as work overtime. I'm noticing that several reviewers mentioned the 2nd DisplayPort didn't work. Not sure if it's an occasional manufacturing defect or it's just not hooked up at all but mine had the same defect. I wasn't willing to risk requesting a replacement so just went for the refund as the main reason I bought this one over others was that 2nd DP. I also tried the daisy chained DP via the working DisplayPort but, on one of my machines, the monitors would go black every once in a while. Otherwise, it switched my keyboard and mouse without issue but, again, I got this for the 2nd DP so, given that port doesn't work at all, it was a showstopper. ... show more

I've switched cables, checked display settings and done everything I can think of, but I can't get this KVM to work if both DP2 in slots are plugged in. If I unplug the second DP connection for PC1, I get both monitors for PC2. If I unplug the second DP connection for PC2, I can get both monitors for PC1. I just can't get them to both work.
