First time buying a gun safe. I don't have 16 guns this safe supposably holds, nor do I intend to. So therefore, my review has nothing to do with gun capacity. I did purchase this safe with biometric/combination, the larger humidity tube and lights. Shipping was surprisingly fast, simple and easy. I needed to call customer support for assistance, on something I missed, after arrival and the speed of which I had a live person on the line was equally impressive. The safe weight was over 300lbs but was easily moved into its final destination with a hand truck. Initial setup was very easy, operation and lock functionality worked with no issues. This safe is serving a dual purpose for me, the quality and workmanship alongside great customer support provides me the confidence of knowing my valuables are safe from both burglary and fire.     • SOLID and very THICK Door and walls
The media could not be loaded. This would only fit 16 long guns if they were broken down in half and store away in different areas, besides that, if you had no shelves you might get away with 8-10 and then of course 4 pistols on the door or more if you had ways to organize them on the top shelf above the long guns. It comes with a push button lock and unlock code keypad (highly recommend 8 numbers which might seem intimidating but it'll get faster as you get used to your code). It also comes with interior lights. To the people that don't rate this as a sturdy safe you need to bolt it down to the floor correctly or else the door itself (which is heavier than the walls of the safe) will make it unsafe and tip over. All in all it's worth every dollar if you want to protect your investments and your a beginner or intermediate gun collector. 5/5 sturdiness 5/5 thickness 4/5 space ... show more

Love this safe. The lock is nice, storage is great. It was a little heavy. As is to be expected. We opted to add the dehumidifier and light. Worth the purchase.

    • Excellent Heavy-Duty Safe
I am very happy with the quality and construction of this safe. It is a huge step up from the thin sheet metal versions you see so often at the local department stores. The locking mechanism, hinges, and combination panel are of great quality. I agree with the general sentiment of the other reviewers that this safe will likely not hold 16 long guns - this overstatement of capacity seems to be common in the gun safe market. The overall size of this safe fit in the space I had and I only needed it to hold 5 long guns and several handguns, which it does nicely - scoped guns will significantly reduce capacity. Keep in mind that this safe needs to be bolted to the floor. The weight of the door when opened will tip the safe over when empty if it is not secured to the floor (or, I suppose, heavily counter-weighted). Delivery via tractor trailer was not a big deal for me in my location, but I did only get about 4 hours notice before the truck arrived. Great safe. Good Quality.     • Won’t unlock!
The media could not be loaded. ***UPDATE*** Customer service has been great and the safe has been fixed. A technician called me and walked me through some troubleshooting. The problem was I overtightened the screws on the inside of the safe door that hold the panel on. The screws have plastic covers and one fell off. When putting it back I noticed it would not click into place on the screw head because the screw was loose. So be careful if you choose to tighten these screws! Overtightening then causes the screw tip to interfere with the bolt linkage. In my opinion this should not be possible, and shorter screws would prevent this. Updating my review to 5 stars. 4 for the safe and one for awesome customer service. ——————- This safe was perfect. Great size and good quality, until it refused to open this evening. Thankfully I was able to get it open using some brute force but now it’s stuck in the locked position with the door open. Looks like the mechanism malfunctioned...handle won’t turn and feels like it’s stuck. Thank god I got it opened before it failed completely!! I’ve contacted the seller and hopefully they offer a quick solution. The safe is only 2 months old.... ... show more

    • Holds about 6-8 rifles if you use both sides
It's very secure. Looks good. And does the job. But it is small. My only other complaint is the top shelf isn’t very well lit. To give you an idea how small: + A SCAR 16S with a VCOG optic and no magazine is taller than the interior of this safe is deep. In other words if you want to store a SCAR with an optic, you have to turn it at an angle. + a desert tech MDRX with an optic and no magazine has the same issue as the SCAR. It is taller than this safe is deep. + if you put a pistol rack on the top shelf, and you put a 4.25 inch colt king cobra target 22 LR in the pistol rack, the door will impact it when you close the door. + if you buy a pistol hangers off of Amazon for the shelf up top, the top shelf is so short that the pistol hanger is longer than the depth of the top shelf. They work, but they hang off a little bit. + a 6 inch Dessert Eagle 50 AE will just barely fit if you hang it on a pistol hanger from the top shelf. I ended up taking all of the shelves and the divider out of my safe, and using rifle rods to store rifles. And I’m able to get about nine rifles in total. Prior to using the rifle rods the most I could get in was six. In part because I had optics on tactical rifles. If you plan on building a serious collection, I do not recommend this safe unless it is a second safe. This is my second safe. ... show more
