I've been looking for a replacement for my Razer mousepad after I had worn it out. I tried a well-made, 5-star rated micro cloth gaming mousepad. It's now under my keyboard. After reading reviews, I bought the QcK Gaming Surface from Steel Series. Medium in size, it fit's my desk perfectly without taking too much space. The best part about this mousepad is the hard surface on a rubber backing which cushions the surface and makes the mousepad nonslip. Once I used the Razer mouse software to dial in my 20k DPI gaming mouse, it was all she wrote! Extremely precise for precision aiming and very fast for making moves. Surface is easy glide whereas the micro cloth types are "catchy" and slow. The hard surface could irritate your hand over time, but I solved that issue by wearing fingerless cotton gloves. I got the hard one for work use. I also use a hard one for gaming, which I wouldn't recommend unless you have wrist issues. The more tactile grips of the cloth surfaces (from their other models) exacerbate my wrist issues, and the cheap plastic mouse pads from other vendors tend to lose their shape over time. These are thick, solid, and provide an excellent tracking surface for the laser. There's little to no resistance, which is what I need. I just got this mouse pad today, didn't have a chance to work with it for an extended period of time yet but it seems to be made of high quality material. I bought it to be used on a bed for a media computer located in my small room, there's no real good or smooth location to work with a mouse, making it a nightmare to use the mouse, the new pad is solid, hard and stable when used on top of my bed sheet, mouse movement is smooth and fast, even for a lame old mouse like the one I have. As far as the ergonomic rating, I gave it a 2 stars since it's just a basic flat mouse pad, having said that, as long as the location you put it on is at hand height there shouldn't be a problem. A seriously awesome mouse pad. Definitely one of the best pads out there. Exactly what I was looking for and not as expensive as others. The material is hard, the pad is flat, and it is slick. Also, the size is perfect for my desk. Highly recommend!

1. QcK Hard size medium ($30): three stars The tracking on this “pad” is phenomenal, but the glide makes tracking very hard to control. It feels like I’m playing air hockey. Maybe it’s a combination of my DeathAdder mouse with very smooth feet on this pad but the glide is too much. In FPS games I couldn't keep my crosshairs still when doing nothing and it made it hard to snap back and forth with precision. Also my quick mouse movements in FPS games were too noisy with this pad (most noticeable when in the company of others). The pad itself is of quality build and very durable and probably worth the price if your mouse doesn’t glide as much as mine did. 2. I returned the QcK Hard for a QcK Limited (cloth type with stitched edge), also size medium ($20): five stars. This one tracks just as well as the Hard version but I don’t feel like I’m playing air hockey in a pistol fight. I recommend this model over the Hard model. The build is great and the stitching feels like it won’t peal apart after rigorous FPS combat. Cheaper too. It’s pretty stupid that the lot of product styles all live under one product item thereby sharing reviews. The styles vary wildly enough that a review for one style (QcK Hard) no way represents a review for other (QcK Limited Cloth Stitched Edge). Also, most reviewers here do not identify which style they purchased so their reviews mostly not helpful. ... show more

Steelseries has been putting out new hard mousepads and this is the new one. The old ones were called HD pads and they even put out glass mousepads which i cannot find. This one is pretty good. But it does eat your mouse feet so bear that in mind before buying. Cloth mousepads are softer towards mouse feet while hardpads like this one aren't. For a pretty fast glide mousepad, it has very good stopping power. It's very hard to overflick anything, because it pretty much stops you on a dime. ... show more

Showing 1-8 of 9,620 reviews...of all their products, not the exact thing I bought though. I bought one of these back when, I love it, kept a can of Pledge by it, and we had a good time making E-sports a thing for ya yoots. I like that I can buy the hard one again. I'd love to review this pad I bought again and used the previous for years as a gamer...but the reviews are combined for all and I won't tolerate that at this point. If you like the Hard, buy the hard. I don't like the cloth so I won't buy the cloth again. This HARD pad is just what I instantly remember over the decades. And Pledge. I like 'em fast...sorry you like the cloth ones...not a fault of those ... show more
